I think it was a mistake to stop supporting UWP versions, especially 1.21.114. That one offered a stable alternative while GDK still has serious technical issues.
The current versions of GDK have had some noticeable issues in performance such as dropping frames and instability in general. Because of this, 1.21.114 was a significant choice for many players who are affected by these issues.
Restoration of support for 1.21.114, even temporarily, would give GDK some much needed time to mature and be properly fixed. From a technical point of view, that version is already pretty close to the newer builds of GDK, so continuing to support is reasonable.
For the first time today, I tried the GDK versions, and even though I already heard many complaints from friends, I was still shocked by the terrible performance and general quality of the experience.
I hope you will re-think this decision, at least until the problems with the GDK are properly addressed.
