THE JAM HAS NOW STARTED (not too late to join!) The theme is: 3 Colors I asked in a few places and a lot of you expressed interested in having me host an unofficial Cube Game Jam here on the forums, so here it is! Read on for all the info you will need! How to Participate To participate you just have to make a game from scratch in 48 hours based on the theme. You're allowed to team up with a friend, so maybe you as a developer can team up with an artist or vice versa. Next weekend, when the jam starts you simply make a game, and then submit it through itch.io as seen below. You MUST make an Itch.io account in order to submit your game and judge other entries. Please click HERE for the official game jam page. When The Jam will take place next weekend. It will run from Friday September 9th at 7PM EST to Sunday September 11th at 7PM EST. This means you will have just 48 hours to create a game from scratch! Theme The final theme will not be released until the game jam starts next Friday, but we've put together a list of the five possible themes. Upgrade Inconvienient Superpowers 3 Colors Companion One Button Control You are welcome to interpret the final theme however you choose, but remember that others will judge you on how your game fits into the theme! Rules Any language / game is allowed so long as it fits within the theme. GameMaker is included as a language. Maximum of 2 people in a team Base code / Libraries are allowed but should not be the majority of the game. (If possible specify base code with a comment at the top of the file or by uploading the base source separately) Open source ONLY Prizes While there are no prizes at the moment, I may figure out some sort of prize if we get enough entries and participation (It's no fun having prizes if only 5 people enter!) For the most part though this is just a fun community event to let people create and play some fun (hopefully) games! If you have any questions about the game jam, please reply here and I will make sure to answer as soon as possible!
