Java Holes in the stairs

I was playing duels and I saw these little holes in the stairs.

Maybe it is a bug, but I dont think so. It looks a bit weird. Would be appreciated if this could be fixxed. :)

I believe this is caused by playing in 1.15. I once had it too.
You can hit people trough them!

As I said, I didn't see this and I've played this map quite a lot today.
It might be the version as mentioned above.
