Haha, well, don't switch servers to often and you should not even notice it. Also, if you hate it that much, donate, then you won't see it. If you donate you'll help us run all the servers, as a thanks we allow you to use all the resources you want.

Just friends. Thats why I mentioned there could be some "Who are you talking to?" issues if you are chatting with someone on your friend list that someone else in your friend list does not have in their list. (Since they won't be able to see the chat replies from your friend, but only from you.)

Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me :) The server was getting way too populated, with an active 2000+ players across little more than 10 lobbies at one time, this update was certainly necessary.
