Everyone I've reported ever since the subforum was private has gotten banned, bar the two that I forgot to bump. Pretty certain the subforum is private so non-staff members don't reply to ban reports and be generally obnoxious. The rate in which staff members have checked ban reports has not noticeably changed compared to before it was private.
While I'd like for these reports to be sorted out faster, you gotta remember these guys have lives too.
Also, if you're reporting people and don't already, mentioning mods by putting @(username) in the post will help let them know they need to check a ban report.
UPDATE: Two people that hadn't been punished yet just got their punishment :D
