Lucky Island Textures

I just started playing this server and when I go to lucky islands, it downloads the resource pack but nothing in my game actually changes. All of the sponges are still sponges and the wands are music discs. I've looked at other threads but nobody else seems to have this problems. I am running version 1.8(I tried all 1.8 versions) I just want to know if I can physically install the resource pack, you know, like in a .zip folder, because I see no other way of fixing it. Thanks for all help in advance! By the way, this server rocks! :)

Try to download minecraft again and make sure you've enabled server textures.

I've seen more people with these kinda issues, maybe there's something wrong with the texture pack. :?
