It started as a "Social experiement" on reddit /r/place - For 72 hours they let you place a pixel with one of the colours given. What you just saw was a timelapse of it :P
Just look at Sweden (where I'm from). They even made our king, our three crowns, IKEA and the dala-horse :D
Jokes aside, this was a really fun event. Me and a few others actually tried to make a small piece, but we didn't have enough time. We only made like 10% before the servers closed :/

CubeCraft really needs to do something with the left click CPS auto kick detection. I was watching my friend (who's on Android, controller PvP) fighting the last team normally and got hit with the anti cheat kick for a CPS related issue and the thing is, she was using a regular PS4 controller and was clicking normally in PvP, no high cps to my knowledge). Luckily I recorded my POV of it happening as a spectator
