No, exp levels you up and you can only use certain cosmetics at a certain level.
Also it is just fun to be a high level.

XP is used to give vanity items some specialty, as some require a certain level.
It's another way of making you work for vanity items.

EXP helps you level up leveling up help you get some stuff like hats Armour to make your character look better in lobbies.

No XP? If you do that than you can't level up (in the lobby).

I think that the Experience bar is there for players to "flex" their level(s). It does have a use if you look into it. Reach a certain amount of Experience points and you will get things in return like a hat, cage etc

Experience unlocks more cosmetic items that can ONLY be unlocked through leveling up.
