So, some time ago @Sophie made this thread: https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/nobody-likes-a-helper-wannabe-x.197352/
Since she's becoming inactive ( :( ), I would like to resuggest her idea again.

In my opinion, the amount of unqualified helper applications could be decreased. Every day, there are at least 2 players who applied for the staff rank and joined at the same day as they applied. They don't meet the minimum requirements to become staff. (For example 200 messages, 3 months of forums activity, etc.)
So, what's the idea to decrease the unqualified applications? If you don't have 200 messages and your forums account isn't at least 4 months old, you wouldn't be able to see the document called "Helper Applications [OPENED]". If the players can't see the thread with the applications link before they met the minimum requirements, the staff team would get a lot less unqualified helper applications in their inbox! And that would save time, so that they can be busy with other things in life, or on the server.

Another suggestion to decrease the amount of unqualified suggestions, suggested by @ChaosConjurer: We could add an encrypted spoiler which contains the link of the application you can only read if you meet the minimum requirements. The amount of reports you have wouldn't apply to this spoiler, since I don't think it's possible to link your forums account to your reports account.

So, are you with me?

Well.......... no. Im sorry, but.....

I want to know how to become a helper. What is needed, what is required. WHERE does it say "200 msgs, 100 player reports, and 3 months of forum activity"?? On the "Helper Applications [OPENED]" thread! You see, if you "locked" that thread to more than half the community, then they wouldn't know what the requirements, the things the staff team are looking for, etc.It would be nice for the CubeVeterans like you, @RemiO05 because you guys know what the requirements are by heart. But many people join the cubecraft forums daily, and some of them may would want to become a helper.

BUT.......... Im fine putting the link on a seperate thread so the new people on the forums/people like me can access the "Helper Applications [OPENED]" thread.

Just think about it...

Make a different thread with the requirements. Fixed the problem.

I voted no, because I think people who are willing to apply should be able to read the thread, but in some way, the application link shouldn't be visible for them (which is a different idea than yours)

Agreed, if people apply without reading the requirements (or some of those threads that tell us a bit about the role itself) then they'll likely be rejected. This would save a lot more time.

deep inside my mind...
What would be your solution for the players that ask staff for a link to the Staff Applications section and they then get upset when they can't see the threads because of the restrictions? Your answer cannot include "make another thread with the requirements" as I feel that a thread like that would defeat the purpose of having the players read through the existing threads.

This is the answer. ^^ (Read the thread again, I've added something)

Then this would be a great option, because the players would still be able to see the thread, but they wouldn't be able to see the link of the document due to an encrypted spoiler.

if they get upset then they shouldn't ever be allowed to view the threads, you're hardly gonna want a kid who gets upset when they can't apply for staff on your team

how would you know how many unqualified helper applications there are?

"encrypted spoiler"
think that might be a bit too advanced for a block game forum

There are plenty of members who joined the forums at the day that they posted a status which says "I've applied for the HELPER rank! I'm so excited!", or something.
Please don't scroll through my old pages I've done that too, don't blame me :v
It takes the staff 10 seconds to search a name on the forums and find they aren't qualified. it's not that big a problem that they need to spend time faffing about with the application forum so that certain people can't access it and the works

If they get 600 applications every single cycle, and 560 of then are unqualified, that would take too much time. Each unqualified application is one too much.

I was just looking at the member list when I discovered something. I fail to believe that I am probably the first and the only person to have "Mint" in their username (probably).
I mean- come on, it isn't that bad-

I wanted to promote random people to admins and demote all the old staff, but here I am.
