There is no reason why non-keyboard characters should be blocked. Apart from essentially banning certain languages (Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Vietnamese, Korean- if those languages are going to be banned, you might as well ban Spanish, German, French, etc), it becomes harder to express stuff ("Obsidian Rank is 139.99£", "It's coming out soon™", "¿Cómo escribir en global?"). So why are they blocked anyways?

"They are blocked to prevent spamming"- this will not help to deter spamming in any way. No special characters? No problem! Just spam keyboard characters!

I am sorry, but it does block a little spamming, but the Cube family is asking the spammer nicely to stop so if they doesn't, then they will report the player and the spammer will be muted. Just use your keyboard in English like I do ;)

If you meet someone that speaks your language, it is quite hard to communicate without the special characters. This might not be the case for dutch, but it is in swedish. We have the special characters åäö, that are used in a lot of common words. Just a simple "Does anyone want to play with me?" can be difficult to understand. In swedish, "Is anyone in this lobby swedish" is "Är någon i lobbyn svensk?". As you can see, two of those words included a special character. Without them, it would be "Ar nagon i lobbyn svensk?". It might not seem that different, but it is. Å and Ä are nothing like A, and Ö is nothing like O.

How?
If CubeCraft takes every automatic measure to prevent rulebreaking, not will this drastically affect the legit players, but it also defeats the purpose of staff and this thing known as the "reports section".
just use English :p
And... if you can't?

I'm pretty sure that you all know that many people cannot speak English. There are a ton of Chinese (and I think Japanese) speakers on the Internet (in fact, it is the second most spoken language there), and it'd be pretty hard for them to communicate without special characters.

In fact, It'd be pretty irrational (if not impossible) for there to be no players that only speak Asian languages or any other that requires special characters.

For example:
"ni ting dong wo shuo shen me ma?" is harder to understand than "你听懂我说什么吗?“

Hmm, does "æ" mean the same thing as "ae" in Spanish? I know it does in French.

Also, in Spanish and French, special characters are important for differentiating characters.
For example:
In French:
"salé" -> salted, but "sale" -> dirty
In Spanish:
"él" -> he, "el" -> the

Also, Chinese characters may have the same "spelling" in English, so to say, but very different meanings based on the characters and where you place your accent marks. 4 does not mean the same thing as death.

I don't see why the spam thing is an issue. If you see someone spamming, report them, all the same. If anything I see more spam of servers in English much more than in Spanish, Dutch, etc.

Lets put it this way. Players are swearing in Chinese and either staff members or players doesn't understand what they are saying, what would you do? Staff can't confirm if a Chinese player is swearing when they don't understand it. They can't even google translate it. The words that you can use now is understandable for other players and you actually have to deal with it.

They can. Google Translate has a special input function for Chinese that lets you write the characters. I'll try to include images later. Also, players who report people swearing in Chinese can include a screenshot of Google Translate.

Yes, the only difference between the pinyin for four (四 sì)and death (死 sǐ)are the tone marks.

We can't use Ñ I don't know why, it's essential for Spanish people, when someone asks us where are you from we have to answer Espania instead of España. It's too weird for us (spanish people) see words misspelled because of the Ñ. I only want to be allowed to write Ñ please! :P
