Yes, I understand how frustrating it can be. My first application was denied as well. Why? Toxic behavior in chat. But I was accepted the second time... just try to improve yourself. I know it's hard to improve yourself when they didn't tell you what to improve on but just try your best. Be active on the forums, discord, and in-game. Create suggestions, reply to threads, help other players and show that you can be a good helper and addition to the staff-team.
i tried that personally by not being toxic and i tested it by only playing with the same 2 people for 2 months and each time i checked with them if i said a toxic message and they both said no but i kept getting denied for toxic like if i keep getting denied when i try my best whats the point in trying if im just gonna get denied

I'm not even on about myself. I know id get denied lmao.

My point being that Saltys post about the Bedrock community getting 0 attention has been proven here today. I have also mentioned it several times in the past. They actually escalated my idea then unescalated it and shut me down.

Its sad to see and even as a content creator ive experienced it. Most of the staff here have gone against Salty, but these are the staff who only work on Java. Which is a big red flag.

In the past I reported that kb was broken. Three java staff argued against me, as soon as I provided hard proof, they all ignored me. How does that make me feel any better?

I asked a question regarding the community a week ago and I am still yet to receive a reply despite being promised dedicated contact for help.

I'll be speaking about the recruitment side of this "rant", though it's first of all very clear where this anger is coming from...

Haven't read anything else apart from the original post. Bedrock having less staff is no denial, though us not caring or not putting our focus on Bedrock is completely false. We realized Java was taking over back in September, which is why we implemented our restrictions for Java. A few months later, the auto messages to promote recruitment on Bedrock were implemented and introduced a lot of Bedrock players to the forums and the Helper application.

What seems to be left out, is that recruiting players does not work like shopping in a mall. We can't accept every applicant to boost the Bedrock staff. Having low Bedrock staff is one thing, but it's worse to have more staff members who work counterproductive or do not fit our standards. A team of 4 will still work better and more productive than adding every Bedrock applicant we can find into the team. It'll be a mess. People who learn from their denial reason, accept it and work to be a better version of themselves will be the ones who will make progression. People who get denied and start arguments and drama about how everything is unfair, blaming everything to others without looking at themselves are only digging their own grave.

We are not the ones who "find" Bedrock staff or go on a hunt for them. We offer the position and deal with the applications, but it's the applicants that need to work for it. We can't force people to apply or be something they're not, players need to realize what is expected from them and how they can improve. You can't accept to work in a bank when you've had zero experience with money or maths.

It appears that most of your "rant" is purely your opinion and is not stated anywhere. Nobody says we don't care about Bedrock, nobody says we push good applicants away. It's easy for people to tell us what to do, especially when they get denied, but those people that complain have absolutely no clue about what goes on behind the scenes and how hard and amazing this team works.

You say they aren't quality enough but wont tell them how to improve.
We leave feedback on every single application.

You guys deny people for being toxic but then dont give them evidence of the date they did this and what exactly it was they said which made them toxic.
People should be able to know what they did and be able to self-reflect. If you don't know what is and isn't toxic, you're not ready to be staff.

How do you expect the same people to re apply if you deny them with the exact same excuse and 0 evidence?
A new application doesn't mean you have a clean sheet. Past behaviour still is relevant. It also is not an excuse, it's a denial since you don't meet our standards.

SO you guys want every staff to be perfect keep doing that you’ll get no staff.Perfection is literally impossible and there must be some error just don’t be that strict on bedrock applications.

Oh cmon, the "You're Toxic" card is such an easy play.

I could call someone a football as a joke, you dont know the context behind it and then call me toxic despite it happening 5 years ago.
i can back this up as well as times where ive joked around with people in lobby and we joked about each other that was apparently toxic which makes no sense if u dont know context

That's not Necessarily what they mean,

Helper rank at the moment appears to be more of a training session than a test if that makes sense, you can't see how someone will change and deal with responsibility if you don't give them the chance.

There would be no reason to be responsible or mature until there is a reason to be so.

You don't and can't know whether this is the reason.

I never said this. No-one is perfect, I make mistakes all the time. What I said is we expect our staff to meet our standards, which include not saying questionable things.

How are we supposed to figure out context? Also, in general we don't deny someone for one toxic word.

Exactly, theres no other way to deal with this you cant have 4 staff. If they want people to be perfect, then i dont think thats possible on bedrock since people arent engaged in the forums or stuff. I dont think they should be That strict on bedrock applications for java okay maybe

The amount of bugs that cubecraft just dont care about that have been reported(like the bridges pit bug) like whats the point in reporting a bug if the report is just going to get denied even though there is evidence there that there is a bug its almost like the staff team want bugs.
I just copy pasted my reply from your bug report: "Hi, this issue has already been reported and forwarded, but thanks for taking the time to report this issue! ^-^- Marieke2001". Why would I double forward a bug to our developer team? If this was a game breaking issue, like the nether taking ages to load for SkyBlock, I would poke a dev about this after a few days or weeks (depening on the amount of reports). This is a bug where pits captured is showing incorrect. This does not affect anyone, nor does it affect the game. It's just an incorrect number so the priority to fix this is way less high than more game breaking bugs.

They do patch a lot of the bugs but there is also way to many still out there and they also refuse to fix maps that lag such as Fallen on Eggwars mega when for months people have complained i even came up with a solution in a previous forum post here: https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/fun-eggwars-mega-stats.279123/
The simplest of things they just refuse to fix when all it takes is just to lower a gen level which will not take very long as they did do it on other maps so why not fallen oh yeah because they dont care about it.
This has never been reported, so I have never forwarded it. We never refuse to fix bugs, but you need to report them before we can take any action.

So teach them?
Unfortunately this is not possible due to highly sensitive information which I obviously can't share. I can take a few days to reply to a bug report, but this is only because I have a work, school and internship scheduele which takes up 40 hours a week. If a bug is really game breaking and important to get fixed asap, it'll be forwarded trough staff-help. RedNed also checks the bug report section quite often and fixes/forwards important bugs. I rather have one person handling the bug reports for bedrock, as having multiple people causes more confusion on what has been reported and what not + we don't really need 2 bedrock mods as I can easily go trough all the bug reports at the end of the week.

saturation glitch has been around for nearly a year, eggwars breaks with every update and knockback had a fix and is still broken.
Not known for me, as it hasn't been reported, so it's not on our bugs list.

That's my point exactly. How you meant to deny them for being toxic if you dont know the context? But if you tell them how exactly it was they were toxic, they can simply give you the context...
We expect some self reflect from applicants. We want to see if players can find issues within themselves, not out of themselves, blaming others. If you got denied for being toxic, we want an applicant/helper to self reflect on their past behavior and actions and keep this in their mind with every on-the-edge message they type.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned the bug in my video about Cubecraft. In which some of the staff said they watched the whole thing... So either I forgot that part or they may have missed it.

Its also been said about in the discord quite a bit so that's weird to see... Well at least you know now :D

Just gonna copy paste what I said earlier tbh.

If i'm honest it seems to be we are getting no where since you guys just keep denying everything we say, so just as usual I cant be bothered wasting my time trying to help out anymore.

thats basically exactly what happened to me. I was excited when I saw my application put into considering in December, but just earlier today it was denied because of "inappropriate and unacceptable chat behavior". I've been kind of stressing about this all day because I seriously cannot remember a time i was ever "inappropriate or unacceptable". I really don't care that I got denied, I saw it coming, but the fact that they gave no evidence doesn't help me improve at all.
We do, in the denial message. 😄
No you don't. I was told I was "inappropriate and unacceptable", but I was given no evidence and I honestly cannot remember a time this happened.

50k players not everyone is toxic.
That is indeed true, we have bedrock mainly moderators, i can assure you they are not toxic, as well as most community members, they are not toxic, but if we deny someone, we always have a good reason. We do not say exactly what was said because it's private info, and even if it wasn't, we don't think toxicity is subjective at all. We expect you to know if you are toxic, which honestly isn't too much to ask.

I even did an experiment myself and didnt send a single message at all in cubecraft chat itself for a month before i applied and they still said i was toxic
We do not only check a month back, we usually check multiple months. One month simply isn't enough to change like that, and i think this thread shows it.
yet they refuse to bring in staff is what it seems and it also seems like they want it to go unmoderated
I don't really understand why this was said to be honest. Do you genuinely think we want the server to be filled with cheaters? It feels like an unnecessary and intentionally misleading euphemism just to make your argument more compelling. We also don't act like an exclusive club where we deny people just because we want to. We want more people, otherwise our applications wouldn't be open, and we are always hiring new helpers, for both java and bedrock. Yes, there are fewer bedrock moderators than java, but the criteria we apply are even more lenient for bedrock, since we need more people there so bad, but one thing we are never flexible on is toxicity. You can have 10 000 reports and be the most active person ever, if you are toxic and childish we won't accept you ever.
I swear staff members just dont care if u have questions on bedrock
We can assure you we do care, but as you said a lot of our mods are java only or java mainly, so a lot of them are not able to answer the more complicated questions simply because they are not that familiar with bedrock, so it's normal that it takes a while to respond while they ask/ go get someone else to answer.
I know the staff are busy most of the time but like 50k players is way more than javas average of 8k players.
That means the bedrock playerbase is bigger, so we have more concerns and issues followed our way, but our staff team is simply not well equipped enough to deal with so many bedrock issues. We can't just "hire more devs", qualified devs are not cheap and not easy to find, so this "MORE" atitude doesn't really work. The same applies for moderators. Even if we are volunteers, it doesn't mean we accept anyone. There are things that we will never tolerate, and that includes toxicity, so once again "just get more helpers" isn't really a solution, we are already trying that.
The eggwars rank has earned $200,000
when bedrock is earning you millions of dollars
1614883484223.png
people dont want to apply for staff as if they keep getting denied every month they will lose motivation in wanting to apply for staff as all they will get is the same denial message every time as i did for 5 months in a row like do they have any other denial messages for bedrock other than "Your toxic"
We give out the reason why people get denied on the denial message, if we feel that the applicant hasn't improved or some other concern popped up since then, we deny. If we deny someone for being toxic and they keep being toxic, i don't know why they would feel entitled to an acceptance.
Yes i know that the staff have to be very strict on who they hire but when really big people in the community apply for staff...and if they get denied
I believe "Being well known" does not fall under the minimum requirements, and it's not a "free helper card" you can use. Being well known does not mean you are a good fit for the team.
Out of the bedrock staff i asked they all said it took about 3-4 months to get accepted compared to the 2-3 months for java like Java
I can guarantee you that is at best a misrepresentation of facts. As someone on the recruitment team, i can assure you we deal with applications at the same time, regardless of platform.
Java honestly doesnt need more staff at this point
We closed Java applications for Dutch and Spanish speakers in Europe for that exact reason, we don't need that many anymore. I don't know why you criticize something that we have already took measures to reduce without even acknowledging we tried to fix it.
That's my point exactly. How you meant to deny them for being toxic if you dont know the context?
If for example, you say "L ez noob" multiple times in a day, in multiple days, or swear multiple times in a few weeks, i think it's more than clear than it's not a joke, either that or you have a rather weird sense of humor.
I've been kind of stressing about this all day
I really don't care that I got denied
