Which version is Cubecraft on?

So I'm just wondering if Cubecraft runs on 1.8 or later, I'm asking to see if I need to wait between hits in PVP.
I was playing skywars and felt like when I was spamming I had to hit them much more often.

If you join with an 1.8 client you have 1.8 pvp mechanics. If join with an 1.9+ client you have 1.9 pvp mechanics.

1.8: Skywars, Eggwars, Lucky Islands and PvP FFA

1.9 or higher: all games
