This I think may be a useful setting in your lobby you can change your default mode of chat so click a tnt block in the options menu and you can set your default chat to global and do '!' To talk to your team. This can sometimes be useful and why not.

This would be way too confusing for me, I already mix up team and global chat and ask everyone for food :)

Where would you use this? We do not have parties to have different chat area other than private and friend messages.
Someone might accidentally leave it on global and meant to do team chat, I would like to stick to what we have at the moment.

Sometimes simple is best.
No need to complicate it but do keep your suggestions coming.
