Java Adding Simple Voice Chat (Optional Proximity Voice)

Adding Simple Voice Chat would be a fun addition to the server. Features like proximity chat make for great gameplay moments, like talking directly to an opponent on another pillar during Pillars of Fortune. It gives players a much easier way to talk and connect compared to typing everything out in text chat.

Since the mod needs to be downloaded by the player, it is totally optional. Anyone who does not want to use voice chat can just skip downloading it without missing out on regular chat or gameplay. On top of that, both the mod and plugin can easily be downloaded through CurseForge or Modrinth. Please note that this unfortunately excludes Bedrock players, as it is a Java-only mod.

It is fair to worry about players breaking server rules over voice, but moderation can handle this. Setting up voice recording would give staff the evidence they need to mute or ban anyone who misbehaves.

Overall, Simple Voice Chat would bring way more positive player connections to the server than problems, making it a great feature to add.

As much as this would be a fun feature to add, this would be a moderation nightmare and considering we are are already busy as it is dealing with cheaters and other responsibilities I will have to say no.

By the way you can use Labymod to interact via voice chat with other fellow Labymod users, our server supports it.
