IT PRETTY MUCH CHANGES COMBAT, PLEASE USE THE GODDAMN SHIELD. I CANT EXAGGERATE MY ANGER ANY MORE.

I hate to break it to you, but shields in CC aren't the same as shields in vanilla.
On cube, they don't negate all damage.
In vanilla, they negate (nearly) all damage.

Shields are a waste of time when you can just combo 'em.

Not really, they block alot of damage still, and most importantly arrows.
Shields block 75% of damage in CC and 100% in 1.11 vanilla. NOt really that much of a differance.

Shields block 2/3 of the damage in pre-1.11 (includes CC since it's a 1.9+ server, not 1.11+). That's still a big difference as you'll still take damage with the shield. Even worse, you leave yourself vulnerable to fire-based weaponry (fire ignores shields) and immobile (you can get out-maneuvered). Keep in mind that using the shield also renders you unable to attack unless you're using kill aura.

On this server, most use the shield to block arrows. Other than that, it's nearly useless -- the off-hand is better off with another item such as blocks, food, or a bow.
