And we have found someone who never touched UHC in their lives... I tried to find how fast the healing truly is but i can't find the answer, it takes only 30 seconds, also if you were to get gud you could probably fight someone with half health anyways.
That comment is so far-fetched and unreasonable I'm not even going to bother to answer it.

I'll rephrase it, after playing with the 1.8 healing system for a long time you get used to it, especially playing UHC where you don't heal naturally at all. In 1.9+ the healing system effects the fight itself, not the aftermath, in 1.7-1.8 it's the opposite, I would prefer a higher quality fight over a higher quality aftermath. That is preference however not cold hard fact.

I've played both versions for quite a bit and in my opinion I still prefer 1.9 mechanics for reasons mentioned above.
In UHC it doesn't really matter since both 1.8 and 1.9 regen systems there are the same: There are none. (except pots gapples etc)

@effot Almost everything you said was incorrect. @CommunistCactus some of your info was wrong as well

PvP Changes past 1.9:
1.9.2: Adds toughness and armor piercing
1.10: Rods pulling in players now becomes a vanilla mechanic (not 100% sure)
1.11: Fixes the saturation system so that it heals 65% of what it did previously, also makes shields block 100% of damage in a 120 degree radius in the front
Somewhere between 1.10 and 1.12: Dramatic hit detection improvement

As for changes in the healing system, doing a consistent test where you take a 23 block fall with 1.5 hunger bars lost to drain to half a heart, you'll find that 1.8 takes 77 seconds to heal with just standard food. In 1.12 it takes 57 seconds with carrots, 46 seconds with cooked rabbit, 27 seconds with steak, and 23 seconds with golden carrots. Golden apples remain pretty OP, taking about 8 seconds to bring you back to full health. But, healing potions will do the same thing in 5.2 seconds so it's not that legitimate of a complaint. Verdict: 1.12 fixes the healing system. With the next thing, we could make the argument that 1.8 has the problem worse than 1.12.

Also, 1.12 DPS exceeds 1.8 in the majority of scenarios. This ranges from 0.93x for a no-crit iron armor / iron sword match all the way to 3.17x for an all-crit PotPvP match. btw, the potpvp match would take 6.16 seconds in 1.12 so not even in PotPvP can the gapple bring you back quickly enough. Verdict: 1.12 fights are shorter when 2 good players are playing, and the healing system doesn't affect fights

The shield changes in 1.11 is the change I'm least excited about, but it doesn't affect fights nearly to the degree you think. You can easily just crit around them and they won't be able to do much about it. If they back into a corner, drop lava. Verdict: Easy to bypass

Also, why do 1.8 people never admit to 1.8's own problems - like never being able to catch people that run away? In 1.8 you have two things to catch runners - speed 2 potions, which allow you to land one single hit roughly every 8-10 seconds and flame bows, which become harder to use with every missed hit and can easily be extinguished. Not very good. In 1.12, you gain so much - slowness arrows, levitation arrows, dramatically improved bows, tridents in 1.14, rods that pull people in, and the offhand allows you to do more things at once. That's something that 1.12 definitely improves, but you never bring that up

And hit detection in 1.12 is 10 times better than 1.8, but that's never brought up because it harms your argument.

And most importantly, you guys seem to forget all the good stuff that doesn't directly affect PvP, but still provides an interesting addition. Elytra is always cool, and I've done some sky based bow fights. They're actually a ton of fun, and definitely one that takes a lot of skill. Magma blocks were also a sneaky addition in 1.10, which is basically a cactus that can be placed anywhere. They can be used as an interesting combo starter if you know how to make proper use of them. Also, chorus fruit can mix up fights a bit when you're struggling to win one. Finally, while it's a bit of a cheap move it's hilarious to blow people up with ender crystals as they would've never seen it coming.

So therefore CubeCraft is on at least1.9.2 since diamond armor has toughness.
For some reason all the big minigame servers are in 1.8, most pot PVP servers and UHC servers are in 1.7 which has great hit detection.
I am deeply sorry I misunderstood the healing system and spreading lies, but to be fair 1.9 is only about twice as effective with steak.
You can't crit around them if they have godly aim and stays 120 degrees in your direction, you may not always have access to an fns or lava bucket.
In the pot PVP scenario what kit are you using, simply say Sx and Px, x being the enchantment level of the hopefully diamond armor. You kind of also forgot to, you know, use the potions? Most pot PVP fights have them... But otherwise in actual pot PVP if someone wants to throw a potion, then they have to move out of their sword which resets their cooldown, making the fight take an extra 0.625 seconds longer, 28 pots and that is 17.5 seconds longer, also in post 1.9 versions you lose hunger a lot faster thus making you waste more time eating food.
Levitation potions/arrows aren't exactly vanilla and for slowness arrows you need to fight the enderdragon, in a minigame sense however where items arent necessarily mined, you also forgot horses and pearls, also levitation arrows seem fairly overpowered, they are in op skywars in only groups of 1, also they can be countered by every type of bucket aside from lava. I don't see a difference between tridents and bows, I currently like my rods setting up combos better rather than doing backwards kb. THE OFFHAND DOES NOT MAKE ANYTHING FASTER EVER, IT ONLY COMPENSATES FOR THE NEED TO RECHARGE AN ITEM EVERY TIME YOU SWITCH TO A NEW ONE, besides how would that really help you catch up to them, we are talking about your feet movement not your lava bucket placement speed. You know what, elytras are cool, not going to lie, but should 1 item completely effect the combat system. Magma blocks never really seem practical imo.
Blowing people up with ender crystals is easy, if the floor is made of obsidian.

and for slowness arrows you need to fight the enderdragon,
No why the heck would u have to.
The only thing the dragon has to do with potions is dragons breath which you can use to create lingering pots, but that's it as far as I know.
you also forgot horses
Because of course that's a commonly used thing on servers and minigames right
I don't see a difference between tridents and bows
Tridents are melee too and have far less range iirc
IT ONLY COMPENSATES FOR THE NEED TO RECHARGE
Regardless of the offhand,
1.12 fights are shorter when 2 good players are playing, and the healing system doesn't affect fights

Bro you should eat the steak whenever your hunger goes down.
Only eat the gapples when you're at 5 hearts or below otherwise its a waste, if you eat the steak and you strafe well then its unlikely that they'll still be able to kill you unless they get a really good combo on you

He doesn't spam at all, I think this is just a great thread, and it's posted with a reason; He wanted to show his skills against the number 1 pvp'er!
I care about him and his threads, and I think he is such a great player.
Let's not post comments like this.

Tbh we need ranked duels. It's been suggested like a million times yet the suggestions keep getting ignored.
I think the owners are just afraid of adding anything that might be competitive to the server because they are scared that some people might be toxic, which is a damn shame
Good job! Is Strateeg19 really on the leaderboard for Duels? I didn't even know. Oops. And he was in my friends list for the longest time... :p
He is, but he grinds the 1.8 classic duels which take like 5 seconds per duel

This is YOUR daily dose of facts #56-
About 3.2 billion people around the world (roughly 46% of the global population) watched at least a minute of the 2010 World Cup!
