I just wanted to ask this, if hypixel were to actually die out from not updating, and all the sudden update, what would happen to cube? We should think about this too.

Hypixel probably won't die from staying 1.8 bc there are a large enough number of players who hate 1.9 beyond belief to keep them going.

Yh, like every player appreciates bugs they didn't know about being fixed.
There are enough bugs that I know about.

* Players invisible when riding horses or boats.
* Accidentially eating from the offhand.
* Shield glitching making you unable to hit.
* Not being able to pick up items that stack in your offhand.
* Getting kicked from games to the Loading Terrain screen.

And probably a lot more that I forgot but are really annoying when they happen. Honestly, I do appreciate bugs that I don't know about yet getting fixed, because it reduces the chances of running into bugs later. Updating takes me 4 extra clicks when starting the game, really not an issue.

None of those were mentioned in the 1.12.1 or 1.12.2 changelogs.

Ok, but all the bugs mentioned in the 1.12.1 and 1.12.2 changelogs are minor.
What would you rather have?
A version of a game with more, potentially gamebreaking, bugs?
Or a version of a game with less, community-reported (also including game-breaking), bugs?

I'd rather settle for a version that's way more trustworthy than another one.

There will always be bugs no matter what version.

So players on 1.12 and 1.12.1 don't have to update if they don't want to.

You do realize that pretty much everyone that plays on a given version usually automatically plays on the must up-to-date patch release, right?
I bet it's even safe to say that only a 3% of the players (on 1.12) are playing on an outdated 1.12 version. They have no reason not to update. Even some mods skip outdated patch updates so they can skip right to up-to-date.

Overall I agree with the thread.
56 people voted yes, hopefully they will not ignore the thread :]
There will always be bugs no matter what version.
Older Versions -> No official support -> No bugfixing
Latest Version -> Official Support -> Community Reported Bugs -> Bugfixing with updates

Also, the goal of any company is to sell and distribute the product perfectly finished, with no bugs. Updates exist because the developer, designers or whatever are getting paid for fixing bugs (and creating new features).

Oh, and the arguments you are giving are kinda invalid:
"There will always be illnesses no matter the research scientifics do, so, let's not research and save money!"
"There will always be criminals, so let's not have a police corp"
"There will always be people who don't want to study, so let's not build schools"
"There will always be cheaters, so let's not make an anticheat"
we shouldn't have hospitals because there will always be sick people.

None of those were mentioned in the 1.12.1 or 1.12.2 changelogs.

1.13 is in snapshot phase. I speculate they’ll start the pre releases in the coming weeks . By early January I presume they’d start 1.14 snapshots

To me it just seems he's against it for the sake of being against it and is just looking for the most remote excuse ever to call it "bad".
No, I'm saying players on 1.12 and 1.12.1 might not want to update, so we should just let them play whatever 1.12.x version they want.
