So, I've thought of this. One of the biggest problems on cubecraft is the number of players who swear, spam, or personally attack. I'm not just saying like someone spamming noob but, someone who really goes to the more harsh level saying stuff like (kys) or anything like that. We need to teach people that what they're doing isn't right and the punishments should be more harsh. Here's my idea: 1st warning: 1.5 month mute , 2nd warning 3 month mute, 3rd warning perm mute. I somewhat got this off of the old hacker system. What do you guys think? We shouldn't tolerate this and should never. It needs more harsh punishments. This is as bad as hacking so, why aren't the punishments not as harsh? Hackers ruin the game, so do these people.

Ehh sorta. Some people may not really know how offensive it is and that's why the punishments escalates with more punishments.

A guy called IceFreezy when i killed him, he said that my team were hackers/dumb(f word)/noobs and that we had no life.
Definitaley a punishable offence in my opinion

I dont like this to much, like teaming verbal attacks have such a wide range there are some where 1.5 months could be to extreme for some and not enough for others

.for example if someone were to say "kill yourself" 1.5 months would be nowhere close long enough to justify it, only a permanent mute would
But if someone called you a dumb*** 1.5 months is to extreme for such a small insult

Excessive enough its an instant permamute
Well, do these people ruin games? Yes. So do hackers. These people are making people leave minecraft. If someone did the things they did online in real life, they'd be ruined. We shouldn't tolerate these things. Would your school be fine with someone excessively harassing another player? No! So should cubecraft. It isn't right

Ok im all for the idea but 1.5 months for the second time is really extreme how about like 4 hours
No that would make mutes ineffective you can do way more damage in chat than simply hacking so verbal abuse is normally more extreme, anyone can wait out the 4 hours and if your not normally typing in chat, like me, you can just blow it off as nothing

I would specifically say this isn't reasonable, if someone gets reported, the staff decide what the punishment is and the player can appeal to the mute. At that point it is up to the staff to decide wether the player can be trusted to not repeat the same. As you guys are all mentioning, the severity of a punishment depends on what they say but that's up to the staff to decide not us if not everyone would get muted for different amounts of time because everyones ideas are different.

I personally think that kys as an acronym is less severe than someone actually saying "kill yourself." Most of what I've seen on cubecraft is very insignificant, like noob or stupid, but even worse words people need to learn to ignore. If someone calling you the f word on the internet can really get under your skin, you need thicker skin.

I don't think it's a matter of getting offended by what people say but it's that there are many younger kids that probably shouldn't be around all the bad language.

Swearing and targeting is different.
Targeting (such as kys/kill yourself) will result in a heavier punishment compared to swearing - I won't say how long but don't worry about it.
However, we have to analyze in what context do they mean.

Like, if you killed me in a game and I say kys, i could mean kill yourself in game unless i start swearing on you or something.
Maybe we're friends and I was jokingly asking you to die so we can go for another game, all these are taken into consideration

I really don't see this as necessary at all.
The vast majority of the people saying these things are the younger members who are not mature yet.
Muting them forever seems extremely harsh.
Getting triggered by somebody on the Internet -who you never met and almost for sure will never meet- telling you to kill yourself would be your problem, not their's.

I kind of want to address the fact that swearing is nowhere near as bad as hacking; why else would swearing result in mutes while hacking results in bans?
I don't condone this at all, but the severity of the punishments you suggest are nowhere near proportional to the offense.

Some kids just say it to look cool. But they should be more harsh.
