Since there is a lot of spammers trying to advertise their products or infect people with virures, I have taught of some ways of preventing that. @Tacosbefriends

1) Captcha when registering a new account. (This would prevent using bots)
2) Disable posting links in thread titles.
3) Add blacklisted words: "muscle", "pills", "exercises" etc.
4) Most spam messages are probably from the same people that just make new accounts. So, they should be IP banned. (I know they can use a VPN, but a lot of them probably don't even know what that is)
5) Disable profile posts for people that have under 15 posts.

Other idea: The first post will have to be accepted by staff, if you post and your first post hasn't been approved those posts will be private.

I don't think staff would be able to handle that.

could work out, but a lot of time would go into that :/

As I thought it, it would be in a moderation panel. The mods would have just to see if the post is valid or not and just click a button.

Another ideas are:
  • The player would have to activate the forum account using his email.
  • The player would have to activate the forum account typing a command in-game.
I prefer the last one to end with this kind of spam.

You cant post a message after 10 min. ? Or only on your profile? Doesnt stop it, but lowers the amount of spam

I like this idea, because most of the spammers don't even play Minecraft, and most probably don't have a premium account. Although, they can get free alts..

Yes, but even with that, the spam would be reduced. Hope some of the ideas are implemented somehow :P

That's a lot of work for the staff team. We're already up to our eyeballs with reports, appeals, and bugs. It's honestly not a huge hassle to just delete a thread and ban a spambot. Captcha would be nice though.

I think Captcha is one option, but I think there should be more ways. If you put captcha only on register you remove a little ads, not all.

That idea of the staff activating accounts would be for the ones that don't type the command ingame, or complete the activation the developers code.
