I know I'm a little late on this, but today is the 13th annaversary of the day 9/11/2001. That day was such a tragedy to many friends and family. Today is the day to remember and recognize all the members who fought to save all the lives they possibly could, and ended up sacrificing their lives to help others! Thank you to all who risked their lives on that day.

Does this really need a thread? Don't get me wrong; I admire the bravery and sacrifice of the first responders. My father was one of the first responders to 9/11. He literally got a call on the radio, hopped in the car and drove off to NYC where he spent days rescuing people from rubble and dust. It was a sad day. I was 6 years old when I saw this on tv. I remember watching the clouds of dust billow through the streets, consuming the buildings in darkness. I remember asking my mom if my best friend was gonna be ok (She lived in NYC at the time and visited on summers.) Yes, what happened today 13 years ago was a tragedy. Yes, this horrible event will likely be in history books for years to come... but dwelling on the past isn't going to change anything. We've rebuilt. We've responded to the attacks (due to political debate on such a hot topic, I'm going to keep my opinion on this to myself.) I'm not saying that we should forget 9/11. I'm saying that we, as a nation, need to move on and make sure this never happens again.

Yes I get your point but this thread is really just about sharing the stories of what happened to you that day and sharing about that tragic point. (Now all we have to worry about is Isis)

This is a very touchy topic to some people, to me- it makes me feel uncomfortable. I luckly knew no one who passed away that day, but I also burst into tears for the families who did. It's so cruel how there are people in this world that would risk their lives to hurt others. I think this thread should be locked, and people should just embrace this thread because maybe some people would not like to share their feelings. :)
