What should I spend my money into?

I noticed that a good profit for me is potato's, as you get a lot out of them in return. use dirt wisely as well. It is expensive
I will say: keep some money. Your next islands will be harder. For the dessert island you have to make many arrows. The gravel/flint to make that arrows is expensive (40k for 10). A good way to gain money in the begin is making a mob farm or collect some stone to make stone walls. These walls can you sell for more money.

Spend your money to buy mob generators. Use the mob generators to build dropper systems. Basically, you drop cows, etc from a high elevation. When they fall you get free items like beef and leather. Sell the free stuff and repeat. If you do this you will always have plenty of money.
i think you should make beetroot farms and mob farms. the beetroot farms could make you gain coins while mob farms help you gain xp.
Beetroot farms take actual work. XP is easily obtained with simple quests in addition to the fact that XP is not that important when you are still using stone tools.

xp will still be useful for the future on to when he gets iron. plus he could earn money from the drops.
Mining coal and lapis are better xp earning early game in my opinion. Also, you can easily get loads of xp bottles doing the early game quests. Certainly enough xp for the stone tools and the necessary fortune upgrades. Upgrading leather armor or stone weapons is a total waste of xp in my opinion. The exception is the early game quests which require it.
