Server Suggestion | Ingame IRC Client

There is a minecraft client not a hack client called Shoutbox Box. i use it for when i need my staff on my server and say they are on cubecraft all it is is a ingame irc client. i think it could be cool for CubeCraftGames all staff can have staff perms like ban mute tempmute. there is an option in settings to turn it off. if you are intensely PVPing @s__a__r__a__h . i dont know why we shouldnt get this there is no account needed you can reserve your Username. and how you chat in game is customizable i use @(message) another popular thought was !(message)

You should really consider some spell-checking software, either that, or start school from the beginning again.

Also, if you are suggesting a client-side implementation, yes, we have nothing against that, heck, it would be nice if the #cubecraft channel we have on freenode would be used more.

If you are looking for a server-side implementation that we should do, then perhaps not so quickly, since development is lagging behind already at the moment due to Luke being off constantly.

If you want, by all means, I have nothing against you showing how to use an in game IRC-connector mod and teaching people how to use it to connect to our freenode channel. I'm usually active in there, and most of the staff knows how to use it, so it will be positive for people needing assistance.

If you'd like an in-game IRC feature, I'd recommend EiraIRC mod, not sure if it's updated to 1.7.10 though.

I have no idea what any of this means. I have 0 experience with IRC, so this doesn't really appeal to me. Sounds like if you stuffed tabbychat and an instant messenger program into Minecraft. I can see the appeal in that you can message people on different servers and that's definitely a cool feature if you need their help or something right away. I'm admin on another server and we just have a Skype chat if something goes awry and we need to contact each other ASAP, and that system generally works. Kinda feels like you're reinventing the wheel... Cool concept though.

It's possible to write a server-IRC bridge quite easily - in fact, I've written one for another server before.
If we added this, client mods would not be required.
EsperNet's bot policy does not allow multiple connections to be established to IRC so we use a single user to forward messages through - I'm not so sure on FreeNode's though.

Anyways...Im pretty sure FreeNode allows multiple connections...
