Hey everyone,

I wanted to bring up a small suggestion regarding CubeCraft’s clicking rules. I understand the reasoning behind the current restrictions, but I think there may be a better way to handle clicking methods overall.

The Advantage

Butterfly clicking and the likes can reach around 15–20+ CPS, while normal clicking is usually around 5–8 CPS. That's a pretty big difference in PvP.

There are also situations where players get hit off an edge and manage to place multiple blocks underneath themselves before falling. With high enough CPS, some of these clutches can make a player extremely difficult, or even nearly impossible, to void. This can hurt the overall experience, since it makes the void much less relevant as part of combat.

I also understand that drag and double clicking aren't necessarily banned only because of CPS. Mouse compatibility is another factor, since certain mice can make these methods much easier or even possible in the first place.

The Biggest Problem: Moderation

To me, this is the biggest issue. How can these methods actually be moderated consistently?

The server can see the clicks being registered, but it can't reliably tell whether someone is dragclicking, double cliclking, butterfly clicking, or using another method. Two players could have very similar click patterns while using completely different techniques.

Because of that, banning drag and double clicking while allowing other methods that can reach similar click rates can make the prohibition difficult to enforce in practice; players can still achieve very high CPS through methods that are very difficult to distinguish.

Possible Solution

I'm not necessarily saying every fast clicking method has to be banned. Perhaps a better defined limit on registered clicks, regardless of the method, could be another option.

I completely understand why CubeCraft wants to allow legitimate manual clicking methods, but I think the current rules are worth reconsidering if some methods are this difficult to distinguish and, as a result, moderate.

I'd just like to see a clicking rule that's clear, consistent, and actually enforceable.
