  • We're running an internal migration of all old players' stats to our new highly advanced statistics tracking backend. This means that stat changes will be a bit delayed while we ingest this huge backlog of data. Nothing is being lost, it'll just take a bit longer to show up in the in-game UIs.

Does anyone have any good strategies for 1.9 PvP? I always seem to lose those duels :(. Videos are appreciated :).

And something other than practice. We all know that.
You need to have a nice, smooth texture pack.
You have to be concentrated.

For 1.9:

- Dont hit to slow
- Keep your food in your second hand
- Dont eat your golden apple (if u have) at the beginning, eat it when your almost dead
- Always sprint
- Try to make criticals (jump, when you are about to land try to hit)

Thats how i mostly win a game :)

So, I'll admit I'm getting better...

I fought the second one right after the first one, literally.

It's going to take some time to get used to a new PvP style and it's also hard to break out of the old.. but you know what they say, practice makes perfect!
You could download this mod <optifine> it helps reduce lags, improve game play and there's zoom which you can keybind.
If you want to get a texturepack, I would recommend finding <low fire> types as they won't block your vision when you're on fire.
It will also make gaming easier.. after you get used to the changes.

I for one love using <subtitles>. It isn't a mod, you can enable it through Options > Music & Sounds > Show Subtitles : ON.
What it does is similar to watching a foreign movie not knowing what's going on and the subtitles are there to guide you. So if you're unsure where someone is and he isn't shifting, it will point where the footsteps are coming from. It's very helpful in my opinion.

Hope this helps!
