Before the update, all kits were balanced; the skeleton did not many damage, but it had a huge knockback, the creeper had almost no damage, but With its ability, it had an enormous knockback, the blaze had almost no knockback, but it dealt the most damage, the wither did (after the balance update (before 1.9) an average amount of damage and knockback, the spider did also not many damage and knockback, but it moved faster than the others, the Endermen did more damage, but not many knockback, however, every life, you had 8 enderpearls to teleport. Now, in 1,9 skeletons, blazes and withers do way more damage, especially the skeleton, because of its 'bowspam'. So my suggestion is to give the range kits weaker armor and some mêlee kits more damage! Because you probably dont want a game like this;
