Hacker in the speed eggwars

Hi today when I was playing at speed eggwars on map "civilization" I encountered a hacker in the match he could hit you in 5/6 blocks away and this is very strange why in minecraft you can hit only 3 blocks away maximum I was able to do the screenshot and attaches it to the comment, you do not understand well but I assure you that he was using the hack please listen to my request thank you.
