We haven't had a global update in a very long time... let's transform this server, making it better in every possible way!

The HUB - Cube Lagoon
Imagine exploring the world's largest waterpark in Minecraft. The player spawns in amidst a shallow region of exotic water, where two cubelet machines are situated. The player then swims over to the dazzling machines and activates their cubelet, receiving a :Mythical: squid pet, before venturing towards the rocky plateau behind where they spawned. They get out of the water and stand on the warm sandstone, running over towards the cliffs. It is here, that they can go through a small yet soggy cave and find themselves on a small secret beach, surrounded by tall, towering cliff faces. They trip, and land on the warm ground below. It is at this moment the player realises, that they can take damage and die in a Cubecraft lobby for the first time ever. (Note: Items will not be lost on death... duh)

Feeling the radiant sand beneath their toes, the player can help Anemic Arnold clear the secret beach of monsters by killing explosive squids, sandy zombies, and guardians. He informs the player that one of them stole his helmet, and that if you can get it back for him, you can keep it. Each monster will have custom drop tables that correspond with how difficult the monster is to kill. For instance, zombies might occasionally drop some experience, whereas guardians might drop the occasional cubelet or some points. Players can kill monsters here for as long as they like, however will not receive as many points / cubelets / experience as they otherwise would by playing actual games.

Eventually, the player will receive the Respiration II golden helmet that Anemic Arnold spoke about, labelled 'Diving helmet'. This helmet will allow the player to return to Cube Lagoon (the water park), and dive beneath the "deep end" of the pool that they spawned in via high diving board, by walking (not running!) across the warm sandstone which replicates a beach-like setting.

Once they've dived and are in the "deep end" of the pool, they can go through the many pipes that are beneath the water park. One of these pipes is golden, and the player is now able to survive long enough to get to the other side of its underwater passage (the Respiration II helmet will be required for this, else the player will drown). Once they've gotten through, they'll find the grand-master Cubey, the old feline mascot of Cubecraft Games, in a watery den. He tells a tale of how he'd gotten himself trapped down here after retiring from parkour. Sadly, he's afraid of water, and with no possible way out he wants you to amuse him for a while. He gives the player a quest: they must win 10 games of Survival Games (previous wins will not count). And thus, the player goes on an arduous journey to win ten games of Survival Games, and only upon completion, may they return to the depths of Cube Lagoon.

The player triumphs, and returns to Cubey. He seems pleased, and hands the player a pair of Depth Strider I boots and a new assignment: Get 100 kills in Free for All or Assassins. Once more, the player sets off to do this, and returns in a shower of glory. Cubey now feels content with giving the player his famous Respiration X helmet, which grants the player an additional 150 seconds of oxygen when underwater! However, he has one final trial for the player: they must find twenty-five gilded fish for Cubey, that are hidden across both Cube Lagoon and the secret beach! These gilded fish will be both on the surface of the park and underwater, behind vending machines and cashier desks, and atop gigantic water slides. There are even a couple of them beneath the water, and in the non-gilded pipes that were also situated beneath the "deep end".

Upon finding all the gilded fish (labelled 'Gilded fish', displayed as an enchanted raw fish), the player may return to Cubey for the final time. He's ecstatic, and gives the player an exotic pair of gold boots, enchanted with Depth Strider III. These will allow the player to get around Cube Lagoon much faster from now on!

But wait, the fun isn't over just yet! Using their newly acquired gear, the player can return to the secret beach and swim out to an island a short distance away. Here they'll find Steve, who seems to have gotten himself stuck after he tried to copy his favourite YouTuber by stranding himself on a 'lonely island'. He asks the player for their help in building a boat, and in exchange for each piece of wood the player can find, he'll give them 200 points and 200 experience!!! There are five planks of wood to find, and they're each hidden very well! One is hidden at the end of the very difficult "Cubey's End" attraction, an arduous parkour course that sees the player roam atop the entire park. Another is found in a treasure trove after reaching the end of the very hostile "Kraken's Cave", found deep beneath the sea of the secret beach. This cave will see the players having to survive multiple enemies using only a wooden sword, given to them by Jolly Roger outside the cave. He warns the player of the legendary kraken, which is rumoured to live deep inside.

Upon finding all planks of wood, Steve will be able to sail away! He gives the player ten cubelets, a diamond chestplate, and a pair of diamond leggings.

To recap, the player now has a golden helmet with Respiration X, a diamond body and legs, and a pair of golden boots with Depth Strider III. Oh, but you want a full set of enchanted diamond armour? Well don't worry, for 2,500 points a piece, Jolly Roger will enchant your diamond chestplate and leggings. However, to get a diamond helmet and boots, the player must complete one final quest.

The player must go to the stage at the very back of Cube Lagoon and speak to Manager Mary, who informs the player that the Lagoon Lodgers, a killer rock band, has failed to show! She asks the player to fill in for them, and in exchange, she'll hand over a handful of goodies that she found beneath the "deep end" earlier on. The player can then select a song, and begin to play it. This activity is basically the entire game of Blockband, as it is currently, except it can be accessed in the HUB rather than it having its own lobby. There will be only three songs, and once the player has completed them all, they'll be given a Respiration. 50 diamond helmet. Lastly, they need to get all stars on all three songs, and they'll be given a pair of Depth Strider III diamond boots.

Note: Manager Mary will not let you play if you haven't helped Steve escape the 'lonely island', haven't plundered the Kraken's Cave, and haven't satisfied Cubey. Her excuse is that "the people want a show from somebody they like", and so understandably they won't want to hear you play if they don't know you well enough yet.

Want a fancy sword to go with that diamond armour set? The aquarium has had a bit of trouble lately, perhaps they can give you one in exchange for your services. See, a number of their fish have escaped, and Guardian Gary thinks they might have gotten into the water park. It's your job to find seven fish in the main pool in exchange for a diamond sword, and five salmons in the other pools, such as the hot tub, baby pool, or waterfall pool, for an enchanted one. However, Gary isn't going to give this job to just anybody. Nope, he'll only give it to somebody he knows he can trust, say, somebody with Manager Mary's approval. On top of two powerful swords which can be used to kill monsters around the HUB much easier, Gary will also give the player 500 experience for finding his common fish, and five cubelets for finding his special salmons.

Congratulations player, you've completed the Cube Lagoon HUB, and have a whole set of enchanted diamond armour to show for it! Feel free to play all else that Cubecraft Games has to offer by clicking on the "Treasure map" in your inventory, or by jumping into the hot tub to the north-left of spawn.

Quality of Life updates - It's the little things that can make CCG better

FFA Wings -

Fall damage has been removed when on elytras. This is because the elytras are quite buggy on there, and tend to damage you before you even crash into something, or they heavily exaggerate the amount of damage that you're actually supposed to take.

FFA Global -
The Wizard kit's Speed potions have been changed to consumable ones, rather than splash ones. This is to prevent players from providing their already overpowered team mates with an inescapable advantage.

The beast kit has been nerfed; a level of Protection from the chestplate and legs has been removed. This way, the kit is slightly nerfed globally, and has a barely noticeable nerf in Wings maps.

The Ninja kit's Protection values have been increased somewhat, to allow it to outlive the Wizard kit and thereby make it viable.

The Wizard kit has been given a gimmick that allows it to get its potions back. There is now a brewing area on every map, and Wizards are given ingredients upon killing a player. Thus, by getting many kills, the Wizard kit can refill its empty, used potion bottles with water, and then proceed to brew a new batch of potions. I had this idea last night, and I love it.

Skywars -

Balance the kits and chest loot distribution. Already confirmed, but is the kind of change that would fit nicely into Cubecraft 3.0

Lucky Islands -
New wand that shoots the user ten blocks into the air, and removes all fall damage for six seconds. Will be named 'Gravitation wand'

New wand that reduces the user's damage received by 20% (Resistance I) for six seconds. Will be named 'Aegis wand'

New wand that resurrects the user if they die within three seconds (Totem of Undying). Will be named 'Resurrection wand'

Blockwars -

Build time has been halved, as has the number of blocks that each player is given. This should hopefully give you more time to actually play the game, rather than wasting most of it building and breaking

Assassins -

Items no longer reset weekly. Yep, you're free to hoard your loot forever now!

Pets

Pets will be added as a very rare drop for winning a game on the server. A different pet will be awarded depending on the game in question, and will follow the player around both in HUBs and in waiting lobbies. At last, you can show off how great you are at your favourite games!
See more information here: https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/servers-need-incentive-to-survive-so-lets-add-some.195438/

Rewards system overhaul
Players' achievements are now rewarded better than ever! You will now receive a little boost in points with every level up, with the higher leveled players also getting cubelets. Reaching a level milestone will also see the player unlock a brand new passive perk when in lobbies. See below:

New games - Super Craft Bros, Parkour, Hide and Seek
Three classic Cubecraft experiences return this update!

Super Craft Bros, a game inspired by 'Super Smash Bros: Brawl', sees players fight to the death on large aerial stages, with each kit offering a totally original and different gameplay experience. See here for more:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/super-craft-bros-remastered.195135/

Parkour sees players jump across blocks to reach the goal. There will be hundreds of courses to choose from, as well as brand new games such as 'Tightrope' or 'Maze'. Both the difficulty and the stakes will increase the further you get into the game. See here for more:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/the-return-of-parkour.194510/

Hide and Seek takes a very, very casual spin on the usual Cubecraft experience, having players encouraged to avoid PvP rather than engage in it. They must survive for as long as possible, armed only with their wits and their environments. See here for more:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/hide-and-seek-remastered.195145/

New achievements
Brand new achievements have been added to every game on the server, totaling to fifty-seven new achievements overall!

Update to 1.12 and the removal of 1.8
1.8 is declining. As such, it will be removed and instead integrated into the live version of the server. This means that whilst you can still play Eggwars and Skywars in 1.8, you'll have to be using a 1.12+ client to do so.

The server has been updated to 1.12, and with this change, comes an increase in build quality. Creativity will also increase with each subsequent server update, as new vanity options and in-game challenges will be brought to you in the future.

Lastly, we're giving away free donator ranks to the first fifty people to view this thread! Click here to claim your prize: cbecrft.net/freeranks

Note: Staff cannot claim a free rank, nor can YouTubers or players with the Obsidian rank

If the thread is broken in any way, that's because I was unable to fix a couple of bugs (most notably, text colour and duplicated spoiler). This server really needs a new website... :(

Edit: Thread doesn't seem to be signing me out (phew), but I don't think I can fix the other issues, sorry.

Thanks for reading though everybody! c:

This would be super fun!
A good ol' adventure would be a great addition ;)
The art is also a good fit for ALL of that detail.

I never even had a chance to play anything but SCB, would be really fun and interesting to try them out on CCG ;)

New achievements
I would certainly love to see new achievements!

Update to 1.12 and the removal of 1.8
I do agree with this.
The 1.8 community is getting infested with hackers, and is just decreasing by the second.
Making Cubecraft a 1.12 server would definitely make freebuild more fun, maybe even add a build-battle style game. THAT would be fun.

Where is my free rank? I'm sure I was one of the first 50 replies ;)

Everything in this thread sounds like a really cool idea, and the new lobby idea would really be nice change from the current lobby.
I don't think I need to give an opinion on everything since it seems like all of it is something I can agree on ;)

Feeling the radiant sand beneath their toes, the player can help Anemic Arnold clear the secret beach of monsters by killing explosive squids, sandy zombies, and guardians. He informs the player that one of them stole his helmet, and that if you can get it back for him, you can keep it.

Thanks for reading though everybody! c:

All the levels you have already gotten should give you the rewards the first time you log in.
EVERYTHING I LOVE <3 <3 <3
I'm running out of ways to say I love you and your suggestions...
I still wish you were staff </3

Regarding Free For All , I'd rather have them fix fall damage rather that have it be nullified. The Samurai/Ninja must be given Protection 1 leggings on OP , and prot 1 leather helm on normal.

Have the wizard kit refill after 5 kills. I am highly against assassinations players being allowed to keep loot after a week.

-I cannot change the colour of the text
-I cannot remove the duplicated spoiler
-A couple of weeks ago, I made a thread that would log you out whenever you viewed it

The website needs updating because it often glitches out. Usually it isn't anything to serious, but these issues are frequent enough to become noticeable very quickly.

I have difficulty with boldness and colour of text on mobile as well. I need to tap thrice for desired effect.
