Hey!
In this thread, I want to talk about something I think many SkyWars players would like to see return to the game and I'm sure more than one of you in the SkyWars community will agree with this suggestion.

❓What is the suggestion?
This thread suggests bringing back speed splash potions to SkyWars, replacing the current speed system. I think SkyWars is already fun, but it could absolutely be better! This is just a small feature that easily could go a long way, as this would make fights smoother and more fun.

❓Why bring back speed splash potions?
- Drinking speed is slow and often inconvenient.
Many players pause to drink their speed before rushing into a fight. The problem is, by the time the fight actually starts, you've often wasted around 5-10 seconds of your speed because you didn't want to drink it right in front of the opponent - and 10 seconds is already half of the potions duration. Speed splashes solves this perfectly as it's instant, so you can use it at the moment you actually need it.

- Works better in hectic situations.
SkyWars fights are often very fast and unpredictable - getting hit off-guard, cleaned, or double-pushed is common things. Instant speed lets players react immediately without being punished by the drinking animation.

- Small improvements to movement.
This is not a major issue, but splash speed also made the movement slightly smoother for players like myself who enjoy fast paced PvP. (This is just a nice bonus)

- Many players specifically want this back.
This suggestion not only comes from me, but also from a big part of the SkyWars community. Many long-time players remember how useful and enjoyable the splash speed was.

âś…The Benefits
Bringing back speed splash potions would make SkyWars feel more responsive in combat and restore some of the fun from the older days of CubeCraft. This change wouldn't overhaul the game; it would simply bring back a small but important feature that made fights feel smoother, and more like the classic SkyWars we all love.

That's it! Thanks for reading this suggestion. Let me know what you think.

In your suggestion, you implied that many 'long-time players' would like the splash potion back in Skywars.
Keep in mind that there are more than those players and some players don't use speed or at least prefer not to. Going back to splash potions would make the Scout kit too overpowered in my opinion and this would create an even bigger disadvantage for players not using speed.

I do agree with some things though, you do indeed need to find time to drink the potions, and you do lose a bit of time sometimes. But this doesn't make or break a game in my opinion.
Another good point you brought up was the fact that Skywars games can get a bit hectic. Having a splash potion would be a good help in escaping those situations. However, I don't think these arguments outweigh the fact that splash potions would be too much of an advantage.

A good compromise could maybe be to extend the speed effect with a couple of seconds, but I'm unsure if thats needed tbh.

Thanks for the reply!
I absolutely get what you mean - not everyone uses speed, and Scout shouldn't become too strong. My point wasn't that all long time players want splash speed back, just that many of those who use speed found it more practical than drinking.

We had splash potions year before the update, and no one really called it overpowered back then. It didn't give Scout more strength - it just made the speed easier to use without wasting much of the duration.

Yes, I agree speed isn't game breaking, but losing so many seconds before the fight even starts feels really unnecessary. But extending the duration could absolutely work as a compromise too.

There are also a lot of players who doesn't return just because speed potions are now back to splash potions, many of the real OG players are just old and grew out of the game and maybe even out of gaming, I agree with Siza it bring many more disadvantages for players who don't use speed or are not good with it.

Splash potions did make the kit much easier to use. However, if splash potions aren’t thrown correctly, you can still lose some time on the effect. Drinking the potion will always give you the exact duration it’s supposed to.
