I would like to know from a mod why i have been banned and now why my appeal has been denied :(

if its your first time offense from Sentinel then its only 7 days and not 30 day ban instead of being banned via report or from a Mod in game at the time

it should tell you why you are banned when you try to log in to the server

Yes it says I was banned for using "illegal mods" even thought the only mod i had and ever have active is optifine?

welll my advice is wait out to the ban its not too bad and i imagine that you only joined the forums yesterday to ask for help. good luck but if you can try getting in a teamspeak with the mod who declined your appeal

If you have been banned there must have been reason for it, and for your appeal to have got denied there could be a high chance that you did something wrong.
