Hello, I’d like to share my view on this as someone on the moderation team that speaks Arabic.
While we technically have three Arabic speaking moderators, opening a dedicated Arabic chat channel isn’t practical at this stage. All three of us are based in similar timezones - the furthers only two hours apart - so our availabilities overlap heavily. That leaves large portions of the day completely in moderated, which is risky for any real-time public channel.
To top, Arabic as a language is highly diverse. The wide range of dialects across regions introduces ambiguity, which complicates moderation significantly (This is something we already see happening). What seems harmless in one dialect can come across as provocative in another.
Introducing Arabic support for tickets is more feasible. The asynchronous nature of tickets allows us to take the time to interpret context and respond carefully. But for now, an open Arabic chat would be premature and in my opinion unrealistic with our current resources.
