Hello, I believe this might have happened because you both queued for a duel at the same time. I highly doubt the admins would mess with the matchmaking just to play a prank on you, as they have better things to do.
it could simply be a matchmaking issue. Being matched with the same player several times in a row doesnt necessarily mean the admins are deliberately causing it. If it continues to happen, it might be worth reporting it to the staff team so they can look into it
It's not a bug, as far as I know. If you play well you are often matched vs strong players, it does NOT matters when you enter the game (or at least not that much)
When I was on a winstreak it once put me into a 2min queue and than got paired up vs the top player twice in a row, DURING PLACEMENT games. Oh well. Yes, I do feel like 600 place diffrence can be a lot, but what matters is the rating diffrence, sometimes there is only about 10 or so diffrience with over 200 ppl in between...
