Will adding the ability to contact mods whilst in-game be helpful?

So if there's a hacker, you can either:
  1. Deal with it and try your hardest not to put your first through your monitor (also potentially record and report)
  2. Leave the game, find a mod and tell them the server number in hopes that they'll go and ban them
  3. Private message your friend who's conveniently a mod (but not many of us have this privilege, including myself)
If you carry out method number 2 and you're successful in banishing the hacker, you're then out of the game--which sucks.

I pose a few methods of contacting mods without leaving the game:
  1. A new [Rank] which gives access to a /command that will send a message to a staff member online (my thought process would be to send a clickable invite to the lobby to 3 mods in the same game mode, the first to accept will be tp'd). The rank will be a reward to players who:
  • Have 50+ accepted reports
  • Have a 70%+ report acceptance rate
If someone has reported 100 players and 70 have been accepted, this shows that the person who is reporting has an experienced understanding of hackers' abilities and can identify hackers accurately. Granting these people with the new [Rank] would mean that the /command wouldn't get mis-used and waste the time of staff.

Each person with this [Rank] will have 3 strikes, if they use the /command for any reason other than reporting someone, if they report someone who is clearly not hacking for spiteful reasons etc. they will get a strike. 3 strikes and the [Rank] is revoked. However, as sometimes it can seem someone is using aura when in fact they've just got god-like ping, this could cause a few incorrect strikes--so 1 strike would be deleted every 30 days so long as they don't get another strike in those 30 days.

Having a rank makes people feel important, it's a status thing let's be honest. By implementing this idea, you're then incentivising more and more people to record and report people. This will not only get rid of more hackers, but will also aid with the learning of correct report-formatting.

Having people with this [Rank] would then allow senior mods to scout people who they think seem trustworthy and mature so they can refer them to admins. Admins may then ask them to send an application in/go straight to an interview if the person of whom was referred wanted to become a mod. If this works out, you could then change the entire application process to this (first have 50 reports accepted with 70% acceptance rate, then report to current mods and after a month of consistent, accurate reports you get an interview/get the mod rank).

2. A Discord server with mods online so you can get in contact

Have different channels for different game modes so you can click the "egg wars" channel and report someone that is cheating in your game of egg wars.

This idea is corresponds with my first idea. You can give ranks/titles to people on Discord and then only allow those people to type in the chat. If this idea was implemented and mods found a surplus of people writing in the chat with incorrect formatting e.g. "there's a hacker in my game!" as opposed to "fly hacks & aura in /eggwars-5" (I'm not sure how to determine which server you're on whilst in-game so the formatting is probably wrong) then yeah, they can just set it to only allow people with the rank to write in the Discord server.

Long story short, we need to be able to contact mods

I can't think of any good names for the [Rank] so if you like my idea and agree, feel free to leave suggestions

no matter how often this will be suggested. First /report is already occupied
second abuse. No matter if you give it to people who reported a lot it will happen).

Staff can't join games if the game has already been started, that's how the server works.

You need video evidence to report someone. Saying that someone is using hacks isn't video prove. This is why recording and reporting is still the best option to use against hackers.

Maybe you can let some people place mod in their name so they will scare the hackers.

Hackers probably don't care. I've seen enough people hacking with staff members in game.
You are probably right but some kids will think it's a real moderator so they will leave, i know that this is not a solutions for the problem but i think some of them will stop

hahahaahahahahhahhah. They won't trust me. I've been playing on this server for over 2 years and seen every kind of hacker and most of them don't care because they'll just get an alt account. And like you said, it's not a solution.

Abuse, lots of people have more then 50 reports, staff can't join full games. Just record and report.

You only addressed the number of reports. I clearly stated that people only with who have 70% or more of their reports accepted will get the rank. I also made the point that if they had over 70% accepted, they clearly know a hacker when they see one. Also, how would it result in abuse? Did you read my post? Obviously if they got the rank they'd be told what to do and what not to do, their rank can easily be revoked, which was also mentioned.

Oh my god did you read my post? I said it was to alert a mod so they'd join the game, and then see the hacker themselves to ban them. "There IS a hacker in /eggwars-5" not "there WAS a hacker in /eggwars-5"

Yeah. Lots of people have over 50 reports and a 70% success rate. Just because they have that does not mean they can be trusted not to abuse.

I disagree. Anyone who goes to the trouble of reporting hackers wants them to be dealt with. This would only allow someone to contact a staff member, so why wouldn't someone who has gone to lots of trouble to get rid of hackers utilise the opportunity to get the same results without all the hard work? Yea no, I can hardly see abuse happening. And again, as I mentioned plenty of times, if they were abusing it, they will just get their abilities revoked.

No matter how you limit it, there will be people who get it and abuse it. In the end staff would be banning more abusers than hackers.
