Do you think this rule should be changed? When will reporting and helping players be bannable?

Disclaimer: Parts of this thread are sarcastic. This thread is meant to suggest to do something with the "mini mod" rule.

For reference, the mini-modding rule is stated below:
No Mini-modding
Informing someone that they are breaking the rules is not considered mini-modding, but acting like a staff member when you are not is not allowed.

Actual suggestion:
For clarity purposes, what about renaming it to "no impersonating staff/other players"? How can a regular player act like a staff if he/she doesn't have staff powers? If the player threatens to "ban," then this would fall under threats or staff impersonation.

*Disclaimer applies starting here*
So, what does this rule mean? As it says above, we cannot act like a staff member. By this logic, this means it's bannable to do things that staff can do. Since this server is becoming closer and closer to Mineplex, we can therefore say that it's bannable to deal with hackers, to report players, to warn players, to use the forum, and to help players.

Example 1: Suppose we have 2 players. Player A is a regular player and player B is hacking. Player A decides to report player B for hacking. Under the mini-mod rule, player A is banned for mini-modding (reporting players) and player B is banned as usual for hacking.

Example 2: Suppose we have 2 forum users, user A and user B. User A notices that user B is posting a hacker video on the forums. User A decides to help user B by telling user B to report on the new reports system. User A is warned for mini-modding.

How this is bannable:
We need to know what a mod or staff does first. A staff/mod moderates the forums and the game by warning players, making sure the players aren't breaking the rules, and giving appropriate punishments. The players have to warn others for chat offenses and record hacking before reporting. We can see that warning players and enforcing the "no hacking" rule are considered "mini modding." Therefore, every normal player on the server has been unintentionally breaking the rules because of this.

The best solution
Hate handling reports? Then this is for you!

-No more reports section. Hey, since reporting players is bannable, then this has to be deleted so players cannot mini-mod.
-Remove chat altogether for normal players. Remember, to give a warning, players have to chat, right?
-No more forums. If we want players to behave and some players help others and it is a staff's duty to help and moderate, then no more forums means players cannot mini-mod!

Bottom line/TL;DR: The rules should be made clearer.

wait so are you saying warning other players and helping on the forums is a bannable offense? because it says to apply to be a helper you should first have a lot of examples on the forums of helping other players.

The idea is that the rule doesn't seem to be made clear or the name doesn't fit with what it explains. To mini-mod would mean to act as a staff, but given that staff help and moderate, then helping is a form of mini-modding.

What I actually want to suggest is in the actual suggestion, where the rule should be renamed to "no staff impersonation" or similar to prevent confusion.

Woah! I hope this will never happen! The amazing helping community makes Cubecraft. I mean, I help people. What's wrong with that? I mean, helping is good. You don't need to be a helper to help. Also, is this a joke? I mean, online sarcasm never works ;). I learned that after I lost my online friend ;)

Sarcasm starts under where I put the 2nd disclaimer. The actual suggestion isn't sarcastic.

Oh ok I see what your saying. Yes, it would be a little clearer if the name was changed, but on the other hand, i really dont think that many people are confused by what the term "mini-modding" refers to. Personally i didnt see how it could be interpreted this way until you mentioned it.

Yeah.. It should be a little more clear. I mean, to look at it, I mini mod every day! Unintentionally. So, then I post saying "am I mini-modding?" Then, a staff member would reply saying "We appreciate your help," Which made me very confused. In conclusion, they should honestly really just make it that no one can say they're a staff member if they aren't a staff member. Mini modding is a little pointless because, everyone can help. That makes a good server right?

I don't get where you are coming from. The rule seems pretty clear, you can warn and report players, just don't take it to far.

That being said, a larger division between 'mini-modding' and simply warning players would be nice.

There is a wide spectrum of which helping someone can turn into mini-modding. Let me give your examples:

Scenario #1: Player A is hacking, player B says "hacks" in chat, and player C says "Please report on the forums". That is considered as helping and not minimodding.

Scenario #2: Player A is hacking, player B says "hacks" in chat, and player C says "don't worry I'll ban them". This is considered as mini-modding as they are not staff, and do not have the correct permissions to do so.

We aren't too steep on the mini-modding, however I can assure you that a player will not get warned for reporting someone. :P

this also should be brought up that to report 2 teamers [in solo or cross teaming] you have to give them a warning and they stop this mean the case would count as mini modding which is in some cases neglecting other rules which has no sense in it

Then why not just say "no staff impersonation"?
Staff impersonation is this:
;Iron;tspacedog: Hey, if you disprove my theory I will ban you, I'm a moderator.
Minimodding is this:
;Iron;tspacedog: Don't worry guys, if the guy keeps swearing I will mute him. Follow the rules, it's my job to enforce them.
