Something I've noticed: the later the snapshot/release, the laggier it is. Any of you noticed that (even if it's just a subtle change that isn't a big deal)?

Also, can lag cause pistons to malfunction? I've had cases where a piston wouldn't extend if I stand far away for it, then function perfectly if I get closer.

I have the problem where i have my fps at 20-40 or somefin and it suddenly drops to zero and goes back up! its really annoying ;,(
I hope that at least your main menu doesn't lag. What's your FPS in 1.8.9 Vanilla or 15w38a?
Do your FPS "swings" occur when you're loading chunks?

What specifically does VBO or Vsync do? What are their noticable effects other than optimization?

Well, I guess the good news is that the world lag in 1.RV is almost manageable/playable. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the main menu >:( (is the menu really that resource-demanding)?

Seriously though, is 1.RV an actual update or an April Fool's joke?
