So, 1.9 has officially been released, and the lag has still not cleared. I seriously need help! Any theories/ideas?

And ps I tried installing OptiFine 1.9.

And ps someone also help with this.

Also, the main menu also lags.

Something I've noticed: the later the snapshot/release, the laggier it is. Any of you noticed that (even if it's just a subtle change that isn't a big deal)?

Also, can lag cause pistons to malfunction? I've had cases where a piston wouldn't extend if I stand far away for it, then function perfectly if I get closer.

So why am I getting perfect FPS in 1.8 while 1.9 is unplayable?

    :(

Here's a question: How much FPS do you get in Vanilla 1.8? How much FPS do you get in 15w38a?

Should I submit a ticket? It seems Mojang has no intent to fix it in 1.9.1 even though a bug report has been submitted.

Guys, please help, this is serious. It's preventing a lot of people from using 1.9.

I find 1.9 not laggy at all.
I used to get 60 fps while using 1.8 without optifine unlike 1.9 which I used without optifine and get over 100.
What is the question you are asking? If you want an answer you'd want to ask a question.

How do I fix the lag? And should I contact Mojang with their contact form? Why don't earlier versions lag? Why is even the main menu lagging?

I hope that at least your main menu doesn't lag. What's your FPS in 1.8.9 Vanilla or 15w38a?
Do your FPS "swings" occur when you're loading chunks?

What specifically does VBO or Vsync do? What are their noticable effects other than optimization?

    Never mind. Doesn't work.

Does the fact that I'm using Windows 10 affect anything? Or the version of Java?

    I've also posted a thread on minecraftforums.net.

Well, I guess the good news is that the world lag in 1.RV is almost manageable/playable. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the main menu  (is the menu really that resource-demanding)?

Seriously though, is 1.RV an actual update or an April Fool's joke?
