Sorry I'm an optifine noob, but is the website optifine or optifined? The link for the download is optifined.

It is optifine. When optifine 1.9 is 100% complete, it will be uploaded on the site I assume.
http://optifine.net/downloads <- here will be the 1.9 version once it's fully complete. The download they are talking about is some pre-release or something, and I don't trust it either.

Thats hard for you! I have without optifine 180 - 260 FPS in 1.8 and with I have like over the 300.
In 1.9 I have now without optifine 150 - 210 FPS.

I have on 1.8 20-30 and in 1.9 80-100.... My PC is weird.....

Once I saw a scam for Optifine 1.9 on YouTube. Luckily, I read the comments and considered the likes/dislikes. In other words, I didn't even have to watch the video to know it was fake 8-).

The file has a 0/55 detection scan, which means 55 virus scanners couldn't find anything in it. It seems fairly safe.
