there SHOULD be a classic 1.9+ vanilla survival gamemode that doesnt have busted items like in hoplite and it could attract old school players and reminisce, i know we already have skywars but having a larger map where you can actually chill out and have somewhat decent commentary with kits provided that enhance the experience and a deathmatch because i mean come on its SG we cant have it last a billion years

Personally I think SG would be fun to play, but I feel like it would be a little too big for Cube to host. Considering that every other game mode only has quite small maps. And if SG would have normal survival worlds, I feel like it'll only cause more lag to the server. Ruining the fun for other players who don't want to play SG.

I don’t play Java, but this idea sounds great. A classic SG mode would be awesome to see!

I think SG could be fun in theory, especially for the nostalgia factor, but I agree with TijmenDeEngeMan that it would need to be handled carefully. A full-scale, traditional SG map might be heavy on server resources, and CubeCraft usually leans toward smaller, more controlled maps for a reason. It wouldn't really make sense for them to just randomly come out with a game mode that is on as large of a scale of a typical SG game.

If something like this were ever considered, I could see it working better as a limited or modified version instead of a fully open survival-style world. That way it gives people the SG feeling without causing performance issues or overlapping too much with the already existing modes.

That's the issue. SG can't actually be played properly if it isn't an actual open survival world.
Reducing the map to a smaller size to avoid lagging out the server would just ruin the point of even adding SG in the first place.
Therefore, I highly doubt that they would ever add SG to the game again. Which sucks a lot because I would have loved to see it on the server.

Yeah, that’s fair. A lot of what makes SG feel like SG is the open map, and shrinking it too much would take away from that. If it can’t be done properly without causing performance issues, then I agree it probably doesn’t make sense to add it just for the sake of having it.

I guess that’s why it’s hard to see SG fitting CubeCraft’s current style. It would either need significant changes or just wouldn’t work the way people remember it. As much as the nostalgia is there, I’d rather not have a watered-down version that misses the point and just acts as a sad SG rip-off.

Okay I don't mean to be rude here, but you're literally just saying what I just said. You shouldn't repeat other people's messages. If everyone did that, the forums would just lose its purpose. So please refrain from doing such things.
