Everyone who ever has made a report for someone knows how much effort it takes. Make sure you record the guy whilst he's doing the offense, editing , uploading etc.
Then when the person is finnaly banned everything should be fine right? nope. From what i've seen from previous reports and previous " unban appeals " you just have to whine a little how sorry you are and BOOM, you can go right back to doing whatever the unicorn you were doing before. This honestly makes it completly useless to even have a report system if this is how easily you can get away with it. some small reward for making reports will have some nice effects
  1. More people will actually give a unicorn and start reporting people.
  2. More people being reported = a cleaner community
  3. It will be far less tempting to use cheats now, seeing that there are more people reporting people + getting a reward for doing so is nice.

This doesn't have to be something of significant value, but atleast something more besides " keeping the community clean " ( even though getting unbanned is easier then actually getting banned )

Please remain calm. Staff never unban players that purposely committed the offence as they intended on using cheats, unless they have a strong reason which includes evidence.

Although, this has been suggested many times before. Do you have specific reward that players could be given if they successfully reported an abuser?

You tell me that they will only get unbanned for a good reason, i wish it was true. On a previous account i made a report because someone was teamkilling with TNT, he got banned. 1 day later he got unbanned. i recieved a message from the banned player on Google+ stating he was unbanned because he talked with Apolo. Please explain to me how blastingour base into oblivion can still be justified?
here are the links to those threads and the youtube video.

Now i know that absolutly nothing will be done about this because whoop dee doo thats the cubecraft way, but still stuff like this makes it verry unapealing to report people if your report gets send down the unicorn anyway.
Now back to the rewards system, theres a verry easy solution to this in my opinion.
A rank infront of your name, like REPORTER or something, this rank doesn't make you any diffrent then the standard cubecraft player with the exception of the name REPORTER infront of your name. ( please note that you should work hard to get this rank , else it loses its purpose and value ) Why is this usefull?
  1. People want ranks,
  2. If you were a hacker , and you would join a lobby where a person has REPORTER infront of their names would you still risk it to get banned by using hacks in that game?
  3. It doesn't give the player with the rank any advantage over normal players.

I'm reporting players for a month now and it is not that big a deal. Its just starting my recording program , capturing the evidence and uploading it to youtube , Voilla the hacker is banned. And staff does not unban every player that appeals , i know that because i see a lot of people who are making a thread because of the fact that their appeal has not been accepted. But what do you have in mind for the 'Rewards' your thinking about ?

1) Calm yourself.
2) Refrain from masking.

As said by OmegaKoek, it's not the most difficult task in the world to record and report. However, it can be bothersome, and we appreciate the effort you guys make to keep the community more hacker-free.

Then when the person is finnaly banned everything should be fine right? nope. From what i've seen from previous reports and previous " unban appeals " you just have to whine a little how sorry you are and BOOM, you can go right back to doing whatever the unicorn you were doing before. Depending on what you did, you will be banned for a set amount of time. Some people are truly sorry for what they did, so they get unbanned. We actually believe in giving second chances to the people who deserve it. If they abuse their second chance, they get re-punished, for more time. Simple as that.

More people will actually give a unicorn and start reporting people.
Perhaps. But if your goal is to maintain the server hacker-free, then you would report for the satisfaction of having a better server than for a prize, which talks a lot about your personality.
More people being reported = a cleaner community
Indeed.
It will be far less tempting to use cheats now, seeing that there are more people reporting people + getting a reward for doing so is nice.
People most likely know the consequence of hacking. If there's more people on the lookout to ban them, it will most likely, not change their mindset.
This doesn't have to be something of significant value, but atleast something more besides " keeping the community clean " ( even though getting unbanned is easier then actually getting banned )
The whole point of reporting hackers is to keep the community clean so people can enjoy playing games, not for a prize that you get in the end.

He needed a good reason to get unbanned. We don't unban people because we feel like it. If you believe me, good. If not, that's your issue.
Now i know that absolutly nothing will be done about this because whoop dee doo thats the cubecraft way, but still stuff like this makes it verry unapealing to report people if your report gets send down the unicorn anyway.
Like I said before, if your goal is a prize rather than keeping the community clean, you have a personal problem that we can't fix. And actually, a reward system has been thought of and it's still being thought of. The complexity of something like a 'report reward system' doesn't come in 3 seconds. If you think otherwise, be my guest and code it for us. I bet you it won't be fast and easy to make.
People want ranks,
If you want a rank, buy one like the rest of the donors have.
If you were a hacker , and you would join a lobby where a person has REPORTER infront of their names would you still risk it to get banned by using hacks in that game?
Hackers would just take their hacks off to use them in a place where people don't have the 'report rank', which won't help. And even then, people know what will happen if they hack, so it's not like it would make a huge, if any, difference.
It doesn't give the player with the rank any advantage over normal players.
I'm sure this would be the case if it this was actually implemented.

I have reported a couple times and it really isn't hard, just have OBS running when you play, then upload to YouTube, it's not like it any aspect of recording costs money. I know it takes a bit of time and effort to report, but my issue with giving ranks or rewards is that the forums would be swamped with hack reports many of which could be fake because everyone wants free ranks/points/however it's implemented. There is a problem, in my opinion, when hackers are being reported solely for the reward.

tl; dr: bad idea IMO

I've reported a LOT of people and I can honestly say that once you reach the 100+ mark it becomes extremely easy to do. Here is a list of things I do to minimize time:
  • Bookmark the CubeCraft report a player section and youtube.com/upload
  • Cut down videos to where the only show the footage that is actually useful to the staff member watching, my videos average about 6 seconds and most of the time this is plenty to get the player banned. This cuts upload time tremendously, it takes me about 30 seconds to upload and post it.
  • I always have fraps open all the time, recording. after about 2-3 hours, I delete all my recordings if they provide no useful value and then start again.
I'd also much rather prefer not to have a reward whatsoever, I like to take pride in the fact that I'm doing a good deed to help the network. :)

I in all the less Hackers thing but I'm not the if you report you get a price that's just too much. A better idea is to tell people how to report really I did research myself and a lot of players don't know how to report people so yeah that's a better idea.

Educate people how to report will help 10x more than giving them a reward, most of the people just say hax and then leave the game...
