With experience added, it is a good way of telling how much time a person plays on cubecraft/how good they are. However, it is not possible to see what level they are without asking them which can sound weird when asking out of the blue. I suggest adding your level before your rank in chat. ie:

(10) [Stone] Steve : Hi

Or adding your level below your username above your player.

I don't support this idea, players would get targeted for being higher or lower levels and a lot of arguments could start and many players would insult each other.
I think the negatives overcome the positives by far.

Anything can cause an argument and I don't see how this would cause so many arguments, however I think that knowing how much effort people put into the server is more positive. Knowing that people can see your level would also encourage people to play more as they would want to be the highest level causing more players on the server.

The levels are supposed to be for unlocking vanity items with a certain level, not for bragging rights. You can show people how high a level you are by wearing the gamecube or troll hat, they are high level hats.

Having vanity items are bragging rights...

Not bragging rights, it's supporting the server by donating/"buying virtual goods"
I think that there isn't really a need for this - what's the advantage of it? (Apart from boasting about your high level and insulting others for their low level)?

By showing peoples levels before there user isn't a good idea for 3 reasons. 1) The player/s may not like there level to been seen as they might feel embarrassed. 2) Bragging. 3) Targeting. -1

I think it could be a bit confusing.
If you are stone you only have (10)Stone:Bumblebee. But if you have a rank your name gets longer and longer and longer... I also do not like that everyone can see my level.
Some players can be really annoying saying "Boo, only lvl 8". Don´t need that although I am not sure if I really care o.o

I don't like the idea of having a number next to my name. It's just unnecessary and it makes the chat look odd. Besides, why would you want to know other people's level anyway? This just serves as a boasting tool, which is something this server does not need.

If your argument is that boasting is a problem and that this will cause even more boasting issues I think that removing vanity is the solution to the problem.

Vanity unlocks cool features that can be used by a donor. It's up to the player if he wishes to boast about their stuff or not, unlike the xp tag. The xp tag doesn't shoot fireworks, unlock gadgets or anything beneficial. It's just there to make higher levels look good, which is practically a boasting tool and pretty much pointless.
