@Mac and many others have said that the new punishment system is better than the old one. Just look at this

Just to end this conversation - The old punishment system will NOT be coming back. Ever. This one is much better and much more versatile. That being said it isn't perfect yet and things such as punishment times are still being tweaked. Please bear with us as we make it the best punishment system of all time.

I understand you all have opinions on how the system should work, but trust me when I say we as a team have put hours of time and thought into designing what we believe will be the best system for CubeCraft.

"This one is much better" Why? You keep saying that it's better now than before but have not said why it's better. You say you have done lots of work on it and it's better now but every poll and every post more people say that the old system is better then the new one, then some staff come along and tell us it's not changing, giving no answers then locking the tread. Now let's do a little math here.

Let's say it take 30 minutes for a report to get answered. A hacker joins a game. It take 2 minutes for them to get all the eggs in the game then leave. That's a possible 15 game that they can ruin before the report gets accepted. Now lets say for the first 5 games don't have anyone that can report. Now we have another 15 games they can ruin plus the 5 from before. That's 20 games. Now they get banned for 1 week. They come back and may do the same amount of damage as before. That's a total of 40 games in 9 days that they have ruined. Now lets say there are 5 hackers that do the same thing. That's 200 games right there that have been ruined because they get banned for only a week, not a year.

Why is that better, having so many games ruined, then to just ban them forever. Look at it from a point of view of a brand new player. They join a game of eggwars. Within second there egg gets destroyed and they die. They join a second game only to have the same thing happen. Would you really want to keep coming back and playing when that happens?

TL;DR: The new system is crap, staff don't listen, this is going to get locked anyway.

I feel like a custom web site to manage reports would be waaay better then a forum. Also I want to know how long the 2nd ban is (1 year?), can't find this info anywhere.

I think the real problem is actually the report system and not the punishment system. It just takes too long for reports to get answered. I'm not saying that the staff isn't working hard enough, and while there certainly should be more staff, I see that it isn't easy to get them. But I think the report system could be a lot more efficient if they didn't use a forum. There should be a web form that automatically validates reports, helpers should be able to flag reports as valid so they don't have to look over the same report multiple times and mods should see the reports in an interface that allows them to just click an accept/deny button that automatically punishes the player acordingly. Such a system wouldn't be very hard to code.

@AnonymousVoter Patience is a virtue, Change your poll, You are stripping people of their opinion with it, And no, The punishment system is fine, they are working to make it better. So please, Be patient. Eventually, It will become alike what you would want it to be, So hold your criticism, You have no idea what they do to make the community what it is. You have no place to speak.

Patience is a virtue, indeed. Hackers should have to embrace this virtue and wait longer to get unbanned XD
Personally, I dont think the staff is trying to ruin the community (this wouldnt be a good thing for them), but they should give us more answers than "We are working on a new anti-cheat, please be pacient"... Some of us invested on the server, and we deserve info on the progress of important things like this.

Once they say that may be a while (long while, for what it seems to me), I think they should be more hard on hackers. I dont know if you have been playing on pvp games lately, but it is out of control. Extending the ban time would be a temporary way of repressing them while there is no functional anti-cheat.

I also think threads like this, talking about the new punishments and large amount of hackers, are gettin kinda annoying, but not because of the requestings. They are gettin annoying because they never have any progress. We do not have answers or any kind of information besides the "Be pacient" message. If they could give us any preview of what the new anti-cheat will be capable of, or the reason why they arent considering any of our ideas for control the problem while it is not released, Im sure the members would be happier with the wait.

You can tag staff on your reports. Reply them with @ JesperGeakko or @ _zRinne (without the space) when they are online. I dont know what other staff members answer our reports, maybe @ Mooofin, but out of these 3, nobody else have ever replied my reports.

Right now Im taking a time-off of the server... I just was getting super stressed with "those" people XD
Its a shame tho... I just bought an Iron rank, and my bf was planning on upgrading me to obsidian for Xmas. But I was the last of my skype friends playing on the server. I only kept playing because of the eggwars maps, that I love so much.

Maybe in a month or two the anti-cheat will be on. If it is, Ill be back for sure (if it is a really good one, of course XD)

I've been in many games where hackers either leave, or simply loose, this is not at all true as most people can't get hacks that can do any damage besides some kill aura and anti-kb, hackers are everywhere, and you can get rid of them, its a part of the game sadly.

Actually most of them use a combo of fly, crits and antKB... It is pretty unbeatable, especially if they have been playing with hacked client for some time and know how to use it. If a hacker leaves in midgame, there is a big chance they got banned or kicked.

True, i agree with this, but alot of "hackers" are salty kids who can't win the game legit, so they get wurst client leaked that doesn't bypass anything, but then there are some more serious hackers which you must experience alot. I feel ya, but look at both perspectives

I do agree that the punishment times need to be hiked up. Also, the reports system is not to blame.

You need to put this into perspective:
    Lets do a little math
There are a total of 31 mods on CubeCraft games.
There are about 4,000 players on, (more or less) at any given time.
You now expect the 4-5 staff that are online to deal with the upwards of 200-300 hackers on at any given time. (number of hackers GROSSLY exaggerated, but still too much for 4-5 staff).
    This obviously is not possible.
And don't tell me that the staff team isn't addressing the staff issue, because why are helper applications open?
And also don't tell me that they're too picky, because if they weren't, more clean players would get banned than hackers.
Its true that they need a better way to deal with reports, and that will be dealt with. I had originally suggested setting a specified amount of time answering reports per staff member so the reports would be answered more efficiently.
Another, more long-term solution, is to set up a custom website for reports, (as many have suggested), connected to minecraft to ban players directly from the website, immediately deny reports with a "Deny" button (as suggested by MagnificentSpam), and make reports better formatted with something like a a questionnaire: IGN:, Offense:, Evidence.
What it comes down to is that you must be patient.
If you're expecting the issue to be fixed in a day, lower your expectations, its not going to happen.
Thats all I can tell you.

As of now, this is the real problem:
EVERYONE who has EVER been banned OR muted got UNbanned or UNmuted. Let that sink in for a second. Maybe 50.000 people got unbanned. Or 20k or 30k or even more. ALL of these people are able to play again. All of these alts are able to play again. It's quite obvious that alot more people are going to hack, isn't it?
Another thing, the report system. If the report system could be easier, for example a form that you fill in and a staff can click ban and mute on the same site, it would obviously take alot less time, and more people would be banned in a shorter amount of time.
The only thing I can agree on, is that 1 week for the first time is a bit short, in my opinion it should be 1 month, then 3 months, then a year, or perm.

That's all I have to say for now.

To OP: One reason it's good is because the new system can keep records of a banned/muted player. Before, it couldn't and it would display only the current punishment. You quoted Mac on the last page of my "bring back the old punishment system" thread - yes, I've made a suggestion as OP there 4 weeks ago. It's now almost 6 weeks as of the new system and nothing's changed. For these reasons, I agree with the others and with you.

*sigh* We're going to be in Mineplex #2, only with full 1.9 instead of 1.8.

There's literally no way to stop every single hacker. This is like going to the police and complaining that crime still exists. Just as every criminal in real life is not dealt a death sentence, we don't believe in banning someone forever for a single crime. Yes, some hackers come back and hack again, but the vast majority either learn their lesson or lose interest in the server after 7 days. This doesn't even factor in the scads of public accounts we're banning every day, which makes up 50% of the players we ban (statistic based on the ~30 reports I just did), which people don't bother to appeal (Why would you send an appeal in for an account that's not yours?) These accounts are being eliminated by the hundreds each day, and fairly soon, they'll all be receiving a permanent ban. The new system has been out for a while and we're already seeing great results from it. Playerside, you're not going to see much of a difference because there's always going to be hackers, but when you can see the big picture and get insight into exactly how many accounts are being eliminated (as I'm writing this, I just banned 271 different accounts linked to one player) the results are quite promising and hopeful.
