As long as it doesn't give you an ingame advantage towards others, it's allowed

Did you read the rules and the mod approval list? There's a specific list that they've declared are the ONLY mods you are allowed to use. So your statement isn't true, at least going by the official statement of the staff...

Also, there's a //calc command ;)

1) I wasn't really discussing the math command, it was just an example of a harmless mod that isn't actually approved.
2) //calc isn't on all servers and certainly not on singleplayer.
3) I didn't know about //calc
4) I don't really do a lot of calculation while on minecraft, I mainly just wanted to see if I could write my own math parser lol.

Yes, I did read the rules. But that's simply what they look for if mods are, or are not allowed.

Great update, but few concerns:

-Minimod: This reminds me of another hacker-infested server (won't say name, as I'm afraid just saying the name alone is advertising even though I don't intend to) and considering that it is also a confusing rule there, I don't see how it will be effective and clear. It looks confusing as to how one can "act like staff." Normal players don't have power to ban, and so they can never be "like a staff member." If it's because it annoys players, wouldn't that fall under disrespect/spam? I wouldn't want to see this server become closer and closer to that, where everything a guy does (that includes just logging on to the server and playing a minigame) is considered an offense.

-Approved mods: Why is damage indicators on there? Knowing enemy health gives a HUGE advantage in PvP. That's enough info for one guy to know when to attack and how to engage the opponent while the other, assuming he doesn't have that, has to assume everyone else is at full HP. Example: Player A has the mod installed and sees Player B (who doesn't have damage indicators) with 1 health. Player A can then choose to rush and knock player B out. Player B, however, doesn't know player A's health. Additionally, enemy health tags is also a hack under many hacked clients.
