Hey, I just scrolled through some staff interviews and the thing that surprised me the most is the joy in creating reports. Not that that is wrong in anyway, but I just wouldn’t have expected that. Although I never focused on becoming staff (and did my best in lowering chances, as it turns out), the thing that refrained me most from applying (I did apply once, maybe twice, but never seriously enough) are the reports. Seriously, these things give me so much anger. I obviously suck at editing videos and never really did my best. But man, somehow I always copy the wrong evidence, type in the wrong name etc. Nowadays it’s pretty much clean and you basically don’t even have to think to write a report, it’s all been pre-set, but well it still frightens me looking back at then. Not that reports are a bad thing, they’re probably the best feature around here: banning maniacle people. It’s just I also feel bad for them, whether they ruined your game and I honestly barely noticed them. But well, here you have some kind of “opion based thread-like thing”. And good luck with making reports.
I don't really mind reporting tbh. It's not really fun to do, but I play games while uploading video's etc, so it doesn't really affect me. I do not feel bad when reporting hackers, but I do feel bad reporting people for spamming, swearing with the f-word and people who send discord server invites in DM's, since they probably don't even know that it's not allowed.
That's what warnings are for. About the Discord DM advertising, it is common sense not to use a popular Discord server to spam people's personal messages advertising your own products.
What if someone is in the CCG Discord and also in another mutual Discord server. This person sends you an advertisement while using the other Discord server. You can report these people since they are in the CCG Discord. I actually know some people who had some experience with this.
As far as I know, we are not supposed to ban anyone if the provided evidence shows a second mutual Discord server between the reporter and advertiser. We also tend to ignore reports of advertisers who have had past conversations with the reporter, since we cannot be sure if they are DM advertising people from our Discord server or just DM advertising people they have had conversations with in the past. Even if the person does get banned, it will still be because of them not using common sense and spamming people, and they will always have the opportunity to appeal by contacting the staff member who punished them.
