Minecraft Bedrock chat not working?

In minecraft bedrock nobody can see my messages in chat or nobody ever replies.
I can see everyone else’s but the can’t see mine or never reply? I have tested with cousins and it is the same with them. But this Could this be an cross platform this as they play on Xbox? Thanks

Sorry . Didn’t word it right. I mean I can see my cousins messages but they can’t see mine? They can also see anyone’s
