How did CubeCraft do it?!?!

So I have been trying to make a 1.9 Minecraft server with my raspberry pi. As you can imagine it isn't working and I heard that CubeCraft uses raspberry pi's for their server. So my question is, is there anyone who can help me on here to setup my server? If you can I thank you profusely :D

I don't think ccgn uses raspberry pis as servers, since they are not close to powerful enough to handle 20k + players...

My friend johnfjonesv (his username) told me about it :/. Anyway my problem is that I have it set up and port forwarded the issue is that when I go onto mc on my main laptop and enter the public ip of my pi and the port I don't see it, I am using bukkitserver 19 btw. I am not sure how to start the server, do I run the Run.sh command or what? So if I need to use a different ip or I am not actually turning on the server please tell me

Well, using a Raspberry Pi will most likely not attract as many people as CCGN, considering the amplitude of data needed, along with the servers running pretty much 24/7, which a Pi cannot take.

Nevertheless, CCGN achieves this success with a multitude of things such as:

• Using custom, NOT CRAPPY PUBLIC PLUGINS. The developer team puts days of effort into creating an enjoyable server.
• Great builds. It brings in the plugins effort.
• Having a good staff team - if your staff is abusive and rude, it'll make players think worse of the server as a whole.
• Fairness/no bias across other players. This is essential. DO NOT THINK THAT DONATORS AND NON DONATORS ARE SEGREGATED INTO TWO DIFFERENT GROUPS.
• You're going to experience a lot of bugs and glitches, and it will stress you out to put in updates that take a long time that you need to achieve in a short period of time. Yes, it's going to be stressful, but the end result is better.

Since the Raspberry Pi only has one gigabyte of RAM it would not be such a great idea to run a Minecraft server on it unless you are planning on making a vanilla server with 5 players or something...

Yeah, you'd be surprised to see how complex/expensive their streaming equipment are. Definitly no Raspberry π's.
