Well, using a Raspberry Pi will most likely not attract as many people as CCGN, considering the amplitude of data needed, along with the servers running pretty much 24/7, which a Pi cannot take.
Nevertheless, CCGN achieves this success with a multitude of things such as:
- Using custom, NOT CRAPPY PUBLIC PLUGINS. The developer team puts days of effort into creating an enjoyable server.
- Great builds. It brings in the plugins effort.
- Having a good staff team - if your staff is abusive and rude, it'll make players think worse of the server as a whole.
- Fairness/no bias across other players. This is essential. DO NOT THINK THAT DONATORS AND NON DONATORS ARE SEGREGATED INTO TWO DIFFERENT GROUPS.
- You're going to experience a lot of bugs and glitches, and it will stress you out to put in updates that take a long time that you need to achieve in a short period of time. Yes, it's going to be stressful, but the end result is better.
Hope this helps. gl with your server.
