If you die you will regain full health it's just a visual glitch.

This is the answer to your question.
Actually, you do still have your 10 hearts, and you'll still take the damage for the invisible hearts. Whenever you respawn, the full HP comes back.
Just visual glitch, nothing really to worry about :)

That's just imaginary, you'll think you won't take damage for the first 5 hearts because you can't see them.. then it goes down from 5 to 0 rather quick..
