I am asking because there is nothing about this anywhere here, and today I saw a player I reported for trolling sometime ago running around in my lobby. (the report got accepted, so he got "punished")

Now I don't expect the punishment for "trolling" to be a perma-ban, its not a such a big offense, but I'd like to have a better idea of what happens than the term "punished". "Punished", in my experience with minecraft servers, might mean anything in this context. It might mean a perma-ip-ban for him and the next 20 generations of his family, just like it might mean a mod sending him a DM on xbox or discord, asking him very nicely to stop.

They will likely have gotten a warning. These show up for thirty days in the rule breaker's chat. After that, it will no longer show up but still apply. This allows staff members to know whether or not to ban the user next time they break the same rule. :)

It could be a time-out or a warning. Trolling in games should not be a punishable offense in my opinion so...
You sound like the type of person to team kill people using fishing rods on 3 alt accounts, then get mad all these alts get banned

I play on an Xbox One, ain't no way I would have an alt-account.
Any platform that can just quickly make a new xbox account (Xbox one, Windows, etc.) can make alts way easier than others.

"No way I would have an alt-account" not if you are playing xbox one.

It's a temporary ban if I remember correctly from 15 or 30 days

Prior to the rules update, the punishment track for trolling was:

Game Trolling: Warning -> 1 Day -> 7 Day -> 30 Day -> Permanent

All game-trolling punishments result in bans.

Chat Trolling: Warning -> 1 Day -> 3 Day -> 7 Day -> 30 Day -> Permanent

Server chat trolling will result in mutes, but discord/forum chat trolling will result in bans I believe.

If this is his first time trolling, he will most likely get warned, through ingame chat or through discord depending on where it happened.
