Greetings CubeCrafters!
Summer is coming to an end, but that doesn't stop our content drops. August was busy, so let's recap - Read below to learn more.
New Beta Game: Mob Hunt
In August, we launched a brand-new Beta game on our Java & Bedrock network, called Mob Hunt. Previously known as Mob Who. This gamemode was created to help stress-test our new backend frameworks and infrastructure, whilst also allowing our team to create a fun and new game idea from scratch.
We know that Prop Hunt gamemodes are popular in the Minecraft space, but we also know that picking a prop and then going AFK for 5+ minutes isn't really engaging or fun, so we wanted to add a twist to our version. Being a prop and needing to blend in with existing props in the map!
At the start of the game, hiders and seekers are picked, and the hiders must choose a mob to blend in with, whilst the seekers must hunt down and eliminate all the hiders. We released this game with v0.1 and a couple of weeks later, launched v0.2, which changed the gamemode a little more, making it even more engaging to play. Most importantly, Hiders become Seekers when eliminated.
This Beta game has given us an even better understanding of internal processes, game development & design, game launch, infrastructure, and so much more. Allowing us to create more fun, exciting games in the future! This Beta game won't be around forever, so if you want a chance to try it out, it's located on Java & Bedrock, in the middle of our lobbies and games menu on the hotbar.
Head of CubeCraft Server
Just to give everyone a bit of behind-the-scenes at CubeCraft. A couple of months ago, we opened applications for the Head of CubeCraft Server role. Well, I'm happy to announce that @stifflered (Tim) has joined Team CubeCraft as our new Head of CubeCraft Server!
They will be leading our product team to create awesome new and exciting content for our Minecraft networks, as well as empowering our Community & Volunteering side of CubeCraft. All very exciting stuff, we're super happy Tim is here, so welcome them to our network, you'll be seeing a lot more of him!
