I’ve seen a lot of discussion about the SBMM system! With some ppl for it and others against it.

If anyone knows how the system actually works, I’d appreciate it if you could take a moment to explain it here. I’d like to understand it better before giving my opinion.
Is there some kind of skill rating/skill meter for each player? If so, how does it work?
I'm curious about this system
