You know that time when this very annoying guy got muted? Or your favourite thread-spamming, 11 year old bedrock wannabe got banned from the forums again? And you just want to know for how long?

You used to be able to see all active and previous punishments (except warnings) on the appeals site, including evidence. You could just count how many times someone got punished for a certain thing to know how long they were muted/banned for. Expired punishments were then removed from the site, and staff wouldn’t tell you if you asked about someone else’s. But you could still ask for how long a current punishment of someone lasts. Now, however, even that isn’t allowed to be shared by staff members anymore, because of ‘privacy’.

I don’t think that makes sense. I get that you wouldn’t want everyone to know you got muted for saying something stupid (and seeing what exactly you said) 5 years ago when you were like 10. I don’t get why people knowing how long you got punished for would be a problem, though. So I think being able to ask how long someone is punished for should be answered again. The same goes for forums/discord punishments, you don’t get the reason and duration of punishments on those platforms, which I think should be given as well.

Reasons I can think of why you’d possibly disagree:

- You’re punished at the moment and you don’t want people to know how often you’ve been punished for that offence before (by knowing how long you’re muted you can know how often they’ve been muted before): Okay that’s sort of a good point, but I wouldn’t say people knowing how often you’ve been muted really is a problem, knowing what you’ve been muted for would be more of a problem imo.

- You see a couple other ppl have disagreed/you’re a wannabe and you see a staff member has disagreed/you’re a wannabe and for some reason you think you have to disagree with every suggestion: Pls stop you’re literally ruining this system it’s so annoying

It just really isn't your business how many times MasculineMan23 has been punished and for how long, it can lead to people being bullied/ridiculed, for saying something 2 years ago. It has also been used in the past to report duplicate evidence, as well as one time, I saw someone say something along the lines of "I can report this player again in 5 days" which means they might intend on using old/duplicate evidence in order to get a free report. I really just don't think we should do this.

- You're a staff member who doesn't want MasculineMan23 to be bullied for saying mean things in 2016 :(

Well I don’t wanna know his past punishments, I just wanna know how long he’s punished for know. I get that no one needs to know what someone said in 2014 but current punishment durations don’t matter imo

wha i think you didn’t understand what I mean D: i dont need to know anything abt past punishments i just wanna know the time of a current one (you can already see the evidence of a current one anyway so idk how this would make anything worse)

I actually agree, because there is no solid reason to make it private, I don't feel that their is a logical reason, like what is the thing that needs to be private about the duration of someone's ban? And just checking how long will it take for the banned person to come back is good and reasonable. :D

Agree :agree:

It wouldn't have been, except it is because you made a secret "get out of jail card". You don't like 30 days mute for threatening? Just, spam a bit before! https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/.299833/

With this not fixed, it is my problem. I want to know if I have to keep hold of my evidence for a week to get a person muted for telling me and my grandparents to die in a fire. I do not have the time to check every few day if the previous mute has ended. I do have the time to ask once in staff help, set an reminder on my phone. And report my not old evidence like a good person and get them muted for death threats.

On top, after all. You're telling me, the evidence that got them muted can be public but the TIME not? Cause we are against bullying :D

You are aware that we’d replace the spamming mute with a threatening one considering threatening is longer and we apply the more severe punishment?

we always apply the more severe punishment. like, if that spamming mute was perm, we obviously would not undo it to apply a 30d mute threatening one, though we do prefer punishing someone for 30d threatening over a 7d spamming one. mind me asking where you were told we dont?
uh i saw someone say you don't i'll see if i can find it back smh

Staff should look at the dates of evidence. I've seen people get banned with DATES posted on the image/videos AND GOT PUNISHED for it after the 3 week period.

I can't tell if you are saying you misspunish people for worse. Or what?
